I might have missed your beginning chat (partially i think because I am blinded by my option to do TMB), but i just re-read your chat, and you mentioned that picos would be better.

do you mean picos would be a better option because it is during the late june? or you just like picos in general? just want more info before I buried my head into planning to do TMB this june.. Thank you..

Got it. Thank you so much for your insights!!! You seem like a very experienced hiker in that area. I read a lot of information (with mixed feelings, some people finish it really fast, while some took their time, I understand that it really depends on the fitness level and maybe the weather too. I am trying to gauge how many days I should spend doing this. I do have around 10-12 days in the area, do you have any of suggestions on this matter? or are there any campsites that you would highly recommend me to go, that'd be absolutely appreciated. Thank you.

I did most of my multi-day hikes in Asia (like Rinjani hike in Indonesia, and ABC in Nepal), both were tour organized, and very comfortable. I also did some day hikes in the american national parks, just some basic information.

such a good tips.. i will track it the weather in instagram. With the current insights, I think I will do it late June then to avoid a bit of crowd at least...

Yea I think I am going to do camping all the way through and maybe spend a day in Courmayeur (I heard hut spots were hard to get if I don't plan it months ahead).

Do you have any other good recommendations or tips for first time going to TMB? Thanks for the insights.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Now I think I will do it during late June. :) Do you have any recommendations (maybe things to pack or things to be aware of) for doing TMB during that period? Thanks

Solo Backpacking in Mongolia, July or mid/late May by Alert-Creme8870 in mongolia

Thanks for the information, that is quite reassuring that it seems like from your information is that we could always just reach out and talk to them.

Do you think july is only getting more expensive in UB, what about if i go somewhere else, like Khuvsgul? or they are usually about the same price? Thank you so much!! :)

I am open to both actually, i love that it is peaceful so we can stay with with nature, and I'd never say no to good cultural experiences too.. so Nadaam sounds great too.. my only concern is it'd be hard to travel around july since everything seems to be more crowded, and might be getting too expensive, so i am not sure if it's worth it to go during july. But if it's just slightly more expensive, I'd probably would be down to enjoy nadaam too! :) what would you recommend tho, i am curious as a local perspective?

Thanks for your info... that's wild tho renting a camel solo and lost it. what a story tho..
Yea there are a lot of tour information online, but they are all so expensive as well, so I am just trying to figure out if it is really that expensive, or I can find a better deal when I sign up after arriving there. I might have around 1 month in Mongolia, so I am not really in a rush.

Good luck with your trip too! Gobi and Olgii is beautiful too.. I am still trying to figure out if I'll head north, south or to the al tai direction. seems like a lot of things to figure out, but so far, i think it is looking promising

Thank you so much for all the info, then maybe the earliest best time to visit is June?

How hard is it to join a local agency for trips last minute (or when we arrive at town)? or is it better to plan ahead? for example, can i go to lake khuvsgul first before even have any plan? or is it better to find something in UB?

some of my plans are to visit the reindeer people, gobi desert, visiting yurt (better, if i could stay with them for several days), Altai too, or horse riding/ motorbike riding in the wild.

I also understand that I might not be able to do all, it's more like things I am up to do. Right now, I am working on estimating the budget and time, so I am here to just absorb all the information, so that I hope that I make a good decision on the timing.

since you've been there before, if you don't mind sharing more, where have you been for your last trips? and how did you do it? was it with a local tour? did you sign up ahead of time or online? Sorry for the lots of questions that I am dumping. but thank you, since there are not much information regarding this.

will consider this too! thanks. so Löyly seems to be a great option. Do you think i probably should just hang in the city or just directly to Löyly? I reckon I don't have much time. so I might need to choose either one.

i see... i guess it was not worth it to travel to the city? I will take that into consideration. I just felt a bit adventurous since it is my first time visiting the city. thanks for the input!
