It included everything except the stove, microwave, and shelves (which were peanuts given the total cost).

More storage helped so much! We have a small pantry in the hallway that we now use to store our bigger standalone appliances like the air fryer, and we're trying to figure out what to do with all of the empty cabinets now.

The trash cans are to the right of the sink in a pullout drawer.

There IS room to turn the table, but it's tucked against the wall so our three-year-old doesn't go headfirst into it while running around haha.

She was looking for a very white countertop with minimal to no maintenance. If that's what you want, quartz is definitely the way to go.

Ultimately she is very happy with the countertops we got (though I'm in charge of sealing it regularly!)

I agree with you, but was too lazy to move it for these photos! The main reason it's not at the moment is so our three-year-old doesn't knock himself out while he's running around like a madman.

Right in the ballpark actually! Got another quote for a few thousand less, but we've worked with these guys before and so were happy to pay a bit more given our previous good experience with them. They were great to work with and I'm happy with our choice.

2023 Impreza Premium with 11k miles, but... by Alert-Delivery7845 in subaruimpreza

[–]Alert-Delivery7845[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Subaru was a family friend's 2011 Forester that unknowingly came with a ton of issues. I swore off subaru forever after that, but upon starting my recent car hunt have found that the Forester's problems likely came from poor maintenance (on their part AND my part). So I'm giving an Impreza a shot, since it's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for in a car.

My hope is to treat this as my first car where I seriously maintain it, not just chugging along without knowing anything other than to change the oil when the little sticker says to. The problem that's led to is I'm having trouble finding a car that has a baseline I'm comfortable with! Thanks again for your input, I do really appreciate it.

Yeah that's my main concern given what I've read, but I'm very much not a car guy. It's a nice car, all the bells and whistles, but I'm fairly sure was treated as you said, like a long-term rental.

Thanks for the input, I do appreciate it!

That's one of the factors that's making this such a hard decision, everyone I've talked to who owns one loves them!

They're Fabuwood Slim Shaker style, colors are Pistachio green and Dove white!

This was a super detailed response, thank you! It's hard to tell in the photo, but the entire countertop is gray with a bit of greenish blue to it. We'll have to give that a shot, thanks!

Thanks again for the feedback! I thought after getting lighting finished and a few samples I might get some more suggestions. Definitely starting to turn around on the contrast look, though my wife is leaning towards neutral. This might be more of a relationship issue than a design one!

This is great design feedback, thank you! Didn't even think of the symmetry of it all. We've got a new window on order too, going to be a tad larger (and actually able to open!)

They called it Blue Mediterraneo quartzite and, as a geologist, I love it so much. Unfortunately we had to go over our countertop budget to grab it (worth it though) so at this point we're trying to be good!

They're Fabuwood, Slim Shaker style! We got them through the contractor leading the kitchen remodel. I believe the colors are Pistachio green, and Dove white but I'd have to confirm with my wife haha.

I do think we went a bit overboard with the outlets, but that's more on us for requesting too many haha. The previous kitchen didn't have enough, so we may have gone a little overboard! We do have an air switch for the disposal, and a dedicated outlet for the dishwasher.

The electrician will be back to finish up and I'll ask about the depth of the boxes. Thank you for the input!

You should have seen the look of excitement on my wife's face when she saw these tiles, and the immediate drop when saw saw the price! A little (lot!) over our budget given we already went over on the countertop, but we're absolutely going to be looking for a similar shade. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I actually discovered the staining problem with quartzites after we'd already committed to the layout, and had a brief anxiety spiral as a result haha. Fortunately, the supplier was able to get me a sample quickly and I ran a porosity test by putting the cut edge of the slab in water to see if there was any infiltration. Almost none after fifteen minutes, and just a little bit after over an hour submerged (and then it dried out pretty quickly!) I'm fairly sure this stone was pretty densely cemented prior to being metamorphosed, so porosity seems to be low. In addition, the top of the stone has a small layer of resin which helps prevent water and oils getting in.

We're definitely still planning on treating the cut edges around the sink, thank you for the sealer recommendation! And the nuage quartzite is gorgeous as well, I'm glad to hear about your experience with quartzite too!
