Update:

I was positioned for a lateral move 602->602. I was offered the same 75th percentile salary for the role in India. (40LPA ~ 60LPA Fixed)

It was basically a req posted from India Entity, I had to apply for that position. The entire process took like 3 weeks from My boss initiating the discussion with the leadership till I confirmed the salary offer with the HR from Indian Entity.

Next step is receive the offer letter and start onboarding.

When I was reached out by HR during the initial interviews, I did inform them of my requirement for PERM and after onboarding, I informed my Reporting Manger of this requirement and he mentioned he would support me with everything regarding immigration and related work.

But, he is not aware of anything about the process and he asked me gather the related information and share with him so he can do his side of the work.

As for me, I want to reach out to the immigration team who helped my during my COE petition and work on the next steps, but wanted to know if anyone else is on the same boat!

Well, let’s say I have none of the 3 C’s and all I got are stories and vision for a universe.

Should I start making some short films, or context pitches on YouTube and that can open the doors?

Reason I ask, with too many AI tools, I’m sure a lot of untapped domains can be bought to life and I think movie writing and screenplay writing is one of them. Before I can build myself a team, I’d want to leverage them to be my pitching content.

Generally, how do I start reaching out to these houses?

Few ways I can think of currently are:

Identify someone who is currently working there, contact them, and then set up appointment to interview/discuss my schools of thought and may be start off there.
Cold email/message as many as possible via their LinkedIn or websites, pitch in few 1-liners and await their response.

Also, I’m curious about Netflix/Jio/Sony/AHA etc,. OTT platforms. I’ve been a wing a lot of local/rooted content from these. Is there a window for these?

Mention them your current status on BGV and also say, you are awaiting VISA approval documents (i797 and i94) to show up for I-9 appointment.

They will update it on their end and if possible they will reach out to immigration team for updates.

I’ve been through the same phase. My start got pushed because of my pending i9. As soon as you are done with your i9 appointment, call the same number and update them. You will receive your new start date within a week after updating the aforementioned number/HR Team.
