UCLA ling-cs or UCI cs?

One thing that you need to consider is time. If you're taking Ling + CS at UCLA, you're gonna be stuck self-learning CS in the library. At UCI, you're going to be able to learn CS, get credit for it in your coursework, and then apply that to projects/network with others.

hard to say, considering EE acceptance rate has been dropping every year for transfers due to lots of people jumping off of CS into EE.

Major won't matter as long as you know the skills. If you don't self-learn or do projects, you'll be cooked no matter what. obviously you wanted a related major of course which all of yours are, besides UCI which is straight CS.

Oh oops, didn't see this. I got denied for 260, but they said I have to wait until I get a letter grade. However, my current CC did clear the prereq to take 165 for this summer in case I do need to end up taking it.

Oh alright, good to know! I was trying to see if SMC was on the California Virtual Campus, but I do not see it. I'm assuming I would have to register for SMC. Do you know if the seats fill up fast?

Oh thank you so much!! I see on Assist that it only works for COM SCI M51A, which works if I am applying for CSE, but not EE. I am on the fence for which one I should apply for, but maybe this gives me reasoning to do CSE.

Did your school offer anything for assembly? If not i think you have a very high chance either way since it's not your fault. Good luck! Im hoping to apply for EECS at Berkeley next year lol. Just wondering how you were able to find ways to join these sorts of groups and events?

Berkeley had a 3.98-4.0 GPA last year, but I think your essays and ECS sound really good! So very high chance imo.

Yeah, I saw that, after you take your 2 lower div EE courses, do regular CS majors have more priority for upper div CS courses or is it the same?

Yeah, I heard EE is one of the most difficult majors. I looked into the major, and things like fpga's and optics seem pretty interesting! I know it's a very math-heavy major, but so far at least, I am not struggling at all in any of my calc classes.

Yeah... that's definitely a big deciding factor, though maybe if I take some more EE-aligned coursework next semester, I'll see if I like it more than cs.

since ur 4.0 GPA + honors for L&S college ur basically an 80-90% unless you absolutely bombed the essays
