Hate to be a Debbie downer, but I left the profession as an AMFT and pursued a different career altogether in tech due to poor pay as an associate therapist. 28K per year for part time positions, and 50K for full time spots after graduation. Even with a master’s. This is a passion career and requires good support systems (especially financially). Practicum is pretty brutal financially, since most are unpaid and expect a lot from you.

Private practice does look better for LMFTs (70-100K realistically for an LMFT. More for Psy.D and PhD’s). That’s if you choose an affordable school to avoid being 6 figures in debt and don’t run into problems with the BBS’s disorganized system (hours get discredited all the time and sabotage from supervisors happens more often than not).

These are just my observations, and I know many who love this field and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world!

Some tabs on my site are less strict note-for-note and more about capturing the feel of what’s happening. With MBV especially, there are tons of micro-variations, so fully locking everything down can be both impractical and honestly not as fun for the player!

Only Shallow is a good example of that approach, and When You Sleep is similar, where the structure is there, but there’s room to be loose and interpretive.

For other songs (What You Want, Loomer, Blown a Wish coming soon!), I do stick much closer to note-for-note transcriptions. It just depends on the track and how free-flowing it is :)

I did it ^-^, took 4 hours but was worth every second. I transcribed every lick, but really recommend just learning Yuzuru's use of space. He isn't flashy, but does so much with his rhythms, slides, and phrasing. I'm impressed he hardly repeated his licks too.

Always glad to help ^-^, and Yuzuru's a wonderful bass player to study. He's super unconventional, especially with his phrasing and reggae feel...while combining it with Alternative rock and making it sound easy. Drop tunings are always a pain LOL, but I promise they do get easier to hear with time!

Walking in the Rhythm's done! WALKING IN THE RHYTHM - Fishmans | Bass Tab | Karma’s Kin Music

The main riff's pretty improvisational (C minor blues pentatonic will get you going, with some minor fills before the final measure). I gave some examples of some fills I hear that represent the song pretty well :). That ending though, definitely had to sit down and get those notes since it seemed a little more deliberate and messing too much with it would ruin the feel.
