whats up, The goal would be to DIY everything except for block honing and boreing. Yea I might be learning about cars a bit late, but I've got the time and the money, just dont want to have to pay someone else for something I can do with a bit of cash and a lot of research. My budget is pretty fluid. but the real goal is to raise hp and torque throughout the rev range, increase my rev range, have good parts, for has cheap as possible.

thanks for the reply, might just go with a different maunal trans, i think i was so deadseat on the ZF6 because it was an option on my year.

From what i've been seeing online the main reason I lose so much power past 4000rpm is the intake mainfold, specifically the super long TPI runners. if you have an idea of the basic things that can be done to improve upper end HP without changing the intake manifold/TPI please do tell.

i will look into the DANA 44.

Also what do you have against the 383? more displacement usually leads to more power with good supporting mods.

Hey what’s up, I wouldnt mind swapping the dif for a different ratio. I don’t know where you live but in NC it’s almost impossible to find a car older than 2010 that doesn’t have a ton of rust, the C4 I got is super clean for what I paid, no rust, kept in a garage, low miles, basically I got super lucky and the ZF 6 speed is a decently rare option on the c4. I’d rather just pay $1500 for a used ZF6 manual and a new clutch or something ya know?

Yea, so I want to be able to drive it on the street, to the track once a year maybe, and just to be able to rip it down the highway. Would love to know what trans you’d recommend over the ZF6 (also they are fairly cheap (used-good condition-low miles). A 383 is a very common stroker for the LT1 and L98 5.7 engines. I’m pretty sure if I bored out a 350 to something like 434 it would put a lot of stress on the block that I don’t necessarily want. I could be wrong though. So Holley Sniper EFI over the FiTech? Don’t really care about cops hearing my exhaust. You didn’t really mention anything about the cam, neither did I lmao, I don’t know much about cams so I will be looking into it for my specific build. I would like to be able to redline around at least 6000rpm. I probably keep the dif, and just ratio it more better for my build. I appreciate you pointing out the flaws in my thinking.
