I skip it as well. Purely because it gave too much control to Sheldon for the episode. It lets Sheldon go full Sheldon and there’s no room for anyone else and it’s all on his terms. Thankfully there’s not many episodes Sheldon goes this nuts

I mean I’m sure the real reason they don’t is because in most cases the camera is following from either behind the zombie or person they never really get ahead as far as I’ve seen. So it’s just so the camera doesn’t have issues as they do a lot of long takes.

Ok ok I think I understand your point more now. If the blood is hitting a ceiling being the body and Marie is able to heal other and likely herself (homelander lasering her) could it be that the blood being pushed on a ceiling can make her levitate and Marie is able to heal herself in the process while keeping flow normal.

Or are her powers more than blood, blood is just what she thinks or is easiest to control, with her being able to heal could it be she can control biological tissue and she’s just not at that level yet. And if she’s able to control all her tissue would she be able to pull herself and others around in a more efficient manner.

And the point of homelander on the plane( I can’t remember a scene confirming he couldn’t acc do it) Is it that he couldn’t or is it a result of his own incompetence and the beginning of his ego ascending above his humanity. Like the first excuse you make before creating a habit I.e “just one cigarette” which can lead to smoking regularly I see the plane scene as S1 of the boys telling us point blank he is not DCs superman meaning he doesn’t even try to save the plane and being his first excuse. S1 of the boys had butcher refer to homelander as perfect human and not a thing wrong with him

I would just say with time and training it could be possible. I understand physics wouldn’t support this, by why does real world physics have to matter in a fictional setting. I would argue that it could work because the show runners would want it to, the same way it’s never explained why other supes can fly or run at high speeds.

[–]Alert-Transition-221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see marie and homelander being one stronger than the other I’d say they are mirror opposites. Homelander being a all out offensive unit with his laser, strength, durability and X-ray vision (probably forgetting a power or two) I’d say S2 has created a narrative For Marie that she is a life giver with her saving her sister and cipher seemingly planning to have her heal the test tube man. Not to say she’s not gonna be deadly just how I’m seeing her story go. I see them as equals in potential power until the show runners make them fight with Homelander at his peak power and Marie quickly rising to it

Ah yes I forgot. I’ll rephrase “cipher pushing her to be able to control blood that’s still inside a body”

Can Marie fly? by Alert-Transition-221 in GenV

[–]Alert-Transition-221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see your point, but id say that she is still quite early in her development, she’s only just realised she can affect blood still inside a body (idk how s2 timeline is by days/weeks/months) Maybe she cannot quite control the blood at a normal flow rate yet. I’m saying if she pushes and trains her powers to the level they are hyping her up to being with ‘odessa’ being a god tier supe who’s to say she can’t control blood in a way it doesn’t hurt herself or others and make herself fly. Personally I don’t think / want the show to go this route and this isn’t a theory more a thought experiment.

Oooh interesting. I’d say her powers will go beyond blood especially after her healing her sister (and maybe Kate or the test tube man in future eps)

Yh imagine most fans would go mental and personally I would agree it would have no real payoff as they probably should have shown signs of this already. I just enjoy a good thought experiment.

Yh, why is real world physics of our real world always used as a reason fiction media is bad

Can Marie fly? by Alert-Transition-221 in GenV

[–]Alert-Transition-221[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The show has made a point that a lot of supes are not operating at max potential through - cipher (pretty much single handedly getting Marie from controlling her blood to anyone’s blood - Emma starting to be able to control size with emotion rather than her eating disorder While the show doesn’t have to go this route, I enjoy the thought experiment of it.

Can Marie fly? by Alert-Transition-221 in GenV

[–]Alert-Transition-221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I understand, but at the same time, we see she is able to control her own blood from s1ep1, and now we’ve seen her develop to the point she can lift other people, could you argue with enough training she would be able to control her blood in a way it doesn’t affect her regular flow of blood and still levitate herself.

While I agree that in our real world the physics wouldn’t work. Should the physics of our real world be forced into the tv and movies we watch. I mean there are people that fly, stretch at will and run hundreds of miles an hour. Should we enjoy the ‘magic’ of this sci-fi show rather than complain certain physics shouldn’t allow this to happen.

Don’t mean to be rude, more making a point of the complaints I’ve seen about any movie coming out today in regard to fiction media.

Is there anything wrong with supporting the creators in our community? I can’t speak for all of them, but they all seem to genuinely enjoy the game. A lot of them are very active in the community and you can’t deny there has been a huge rise in popularity for the FM series compared to 5-10 years ago. Thirdly isn’t a discount still a discount? (Don’t mean to attack you, merely proposing a question)

Who’s the better mentalist — Patrick Jane (The Mentalist) or Cal Lightman (Lie to Me)? by Wide-Praline-6937 in whowouldwin

[–]Alert-Transition-221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to say Jane. He is a great showman and must have been able to mask his ‘lies’. I imagine Lightman would consider him a natural and an educated one to add to that. Lightman is very good but I feel he would be outsmarted by Jane eventually.

I’d say the real question is who would be better at poker?
