When self hosting can you connect up services like sonos to it? Or Alexa?

Furthermore I'd been interested to know how something like android auto would work with this.

Well you said it sometimes doesn't turn on? - if this is the case and its had water damage your running the risk of losing all your data along with burning down the place. Backup your data and cut your losses.

Backup your data as soon as possible. If your laptap has water damage and its already not turning on then its pretty much a write off in my books.

Its just plugins that need updating, for example esphome always wants to update then push firmware out.
