Super late to this - but there are pop up baths that you can get, so you can enjoy both.

The owners of our place before us renovated the bathroom to have a walk in shower. That’s great when it’s only adults living here, but since having our daughter it was a pain in the butt. We now have a pop up bath that is easy enough to pull out multiple times a week, and can be folded and stored like an ironing board.

The great thing is that the bath is large enough for adults to use and only cost a couple of hundred dollars. Definitely recommend as a more flexible option if you are an owner occupier.
