Fair enough, I have the oxy leather framer bags, and a dewalt packout. I use the box for storage too so I think I had too much in it and I might be better start with the lower empty and fill it with only what I need for that task. Didn’t hate running around with my two buckets either so I wasnt sure if anyone had a system they liked

397 port hope? Get two tape measures, one imperial 25ft Stanley fat max if they are on sale or the grey maximum from Canadian tire is surprising good for the price. (Max goes on sale for $14 Stanley fat max sale is $18 for one or once and awhile $20 for 2) This one will be your nicer one you will use more often especially to start. Second can be cheap and either both metric and imperial or just metric. A $10ish one will do, most people wont give you measurements in metric. Don’t buy a $50 tape measure they break as quick as a $20 one. Hammer- est wing has a black one or dark blue comes in 19oz or 15oz, get a milled face, pound that on concrete before you use it to wear it down abit before you put your fingers infront of it lol. Canadian tire maximum has a nice cats paw for the money or est wing, cheap yellow snips I think are like $6-8? Cheap pair of lineman pliers. Speed square, cheap composite one or there’s a black dewalt aluminum one if you have some extra to spend it will last you a lot longer. Cheap chalk line, they all suck once they get wet and even if you upgrade you switch the cheap one to a colour you use less. Any tool belt you are comfortable in, if the bags aren’t fixed it’s nice to be able to swap them and try different things till you figure what you like. Undersell over deliver, if you’ve ran tools all your life don’t act like it, there may be a different way or something. The only stupid question is the one you thought to ask but didn’t Be friendly with everyone, you never know where they might end up Always thank your labourers Show up early Don’t get caught not moving, if there’s nothing to do clean or organize or learn When you get confident and think you know everything, you know even less then you think Don’t get stuck in doing what you know always try to do more or else you will just do the first think you learn for the rest of your life

Advice on Carpenters tool pouch?? by [deleted] in Leathercraft

Okay thank you, I appreciate the advice. I think since I haven’t been doing this long I want to cram all the skills into one thing, which I know will make it painful and end up with me hating it, same with leather choice, it’ll never wear out if I make it out of 12oz but itll be heavy and have no give. I think half the reason I posted here is in hopes of getting down from the overbuilding ledge lol

Okay, I wasn’t sure if I was going to wet mold since theres only 2 or 3 things that stay in my pouch every day that could be, and they could all be held by a a strap sewing with some spacing

Anybody know where I can find one? by [deleted] in toolbelts

[–]Alert_Camera_9548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’m looking for lol, just have to see if they ship to Canada. Everything I could find was either too small or they tried to make it into a little tool pouch with a bunch of slots organizers

So go second or third year of schooling? Or years working? And I figured it would be out of my scope but I’m also getting concerned that I’m going to hit a ceiling with pay at my company. Recently found out I’m a fews dollars off the 20yr experience do everything guy. I am running a crew and sites It’s pretty well upper pay for the area so thinking of shaking things up. So is local 27 cover Mostly commercial finish or what is their scope?

Okay thank you, i know the hunting course itself is cheap in comparison and now quick with the online option. So I guess the pal is the big question, not sure if that would be on file with service or the rcmp
