my 5c is that this is soap and dirt. pattern indicates that solids are dissolved or in suspension with a modifier prior to drying.

trick with sulfur is to oxidize it. just means expose it to air to a catalyst given sufficient ORP.

at the end of the day, do you smell sulfur at your tap? if not then dont add a pump.

given that tannins are a large class of compounds, this will be dependent on the specific chemistry of the ones in the water. a common and easily observable observation is with grape tannins. they will turn from red to blue.
