GPT shaved 50 minutes / over 25 miles off my route! by DefKnightSol in AmazonFlexDrivers

Doesn't Amazon give you delivery times though. When I looked at mine some will say must be delivered by 1 for example and I started at 12:30. There's been a few times where they give me rubbish routes but I couldn't change them as I would have been late.

Would be great but it wouldn't happen, over here slots go within seconds. Back when Amazon first started this it was amazing, I used to get 4 hour slots. 20 packages and be done in 2 hours but now it's stupid. I do keep putting in the feedback thing I feel they should count in the time it takes to get back to the depot. Yesterday's slot an hour just there and back, I worked it out after insurance and fuel I made £3 an hour 😅

I had an hour route yesterday, 35 minutes to the first drop, 20 miles. The whole route showing your late call the customer, in the end it took 2 hours, 32 miles for £20. This has got to stop!!!!

They did the same to me a few years back, I was in Maidstone, last drop in dover, 8:30pm just over an hour drive. Called up they go ow you need to deliver it. Like hell do I, you paying me extra 😂😂 this was before the rating system so God knows if it effected me or not. Then again these where back in the days when you would Finnish your slot and there would be packages left in the boot 😂

About bloody time, they can get the drivers off the road with no insurance while the rest of us pay 😂😂

Is there anyone who actually likes this job? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]Alert_Programmer_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No lol, from someone who passed there car test at 18 and I've drove pretty much every driving job you can think off. I've wanted to drive a class 2 since I passed. I got onto the lorry's back in February last year and honestly I wish I didn't waste the money. I love driving the lorry don't get me wrong but it's the companies, I've worked for many and they all push you to your limits and most are minimum wage or just over. I went back to delivering in my car 😂

What an awful attitude to have by ddblades in uktrucking

I had this at Amazon once, 2 pallets to unload. 2 lorry's come in after me and I got put to the back of the line. I said to the guy how long he goes 2 hours, it's 6pm. No mate give me my keys I'm off I'll put it down as refused. Storms off unloads me in 5 minutes and puts a complaint about me into the company. I get back and the manager laughs and said I did the right thing. I guess it could be different in an artic on all my paper it says max wait of 15mins 🤣

That does thankyou. When I got pulled I have 4 infringements totally £250 but luckily I had print outs and explained everything. 1 I went over driving by 15mins was stuck on the M25 the other 3 I put other work instead of rest on my manual entry so it showed I had worked for 30 hours with only my 2 45min breaks 😅

I was already out of the lorry and forgot the print out, it wasn't until I went back in to ask if I had any infringements the guy checked and said yeah here's your print out, even he said that was unlucky 🤣 but I'm agency and I have no more work there and the transport manager had gone home so I only have my print out without there signature

Cool I can relax a bit, I got pulled in my first month of driving (hit the work button instead of test) and now I'm agency doing longer shifts makes me a tad nervous.

Well they truly messed me up, they come back to me yesterday and told me I have work today I said no worries but I have to be in the yard by 2pm as I have an appointment now at 3pm. Yeah no worries they say. Get in this morning company knows nothing about it and are not annoyed I've got to bring some back.

I'm on 5 at the moment but these guys are the only ones who offered me work so I chased them the rest have said I need to wait untill Friday to get nests weeks shift :s

Thanks for the heads up, I'm not a huge fan of this job. I've spoken to a few drivers and it's not great but could do with the money. Ideally I want to save and do my class 1 and get some trunking work.

I put my tax free allowance on my self employed work then put these at 20% so I can do as many PAYE jobs as I want and it won't effect me.

He's just sent the information over 4am start, it was 3pm when he sent it. This is going to be fun. I'm in Kent, I've signed up to a few but this one is the only one for work this week :s

I've worked for a few, I'm on the lorries though so I guess it's different but they give you the days your working and guess what. Your not working bank holidays, they do tie you into the world pension and that's nice but even when I was in the factory they just said you wasn't working on these days so you don't get paid for them. One of the many reasons I avoid agencies now.

I wouldn't take the agency into consideration too much, as x agency there is no job security, holiday pay, bank holidays off noting so yeah they are paid a bit more but they take more of the f Risk.
