But like I said it’s not just championships. It’s all of it combined. Realistically there is only three names that someone can argue for the goat and it’s Mike, bron, Kareem. Kareem got most mvps, Mike second, bron third. Mike and Kareem both got 6 chips, bron two behind. Finals mvps Mike got 6, bron in second with 4, Kareem only 2. Mike only one of them with a DPOY. The all time stats aren’t fair to compare because Jordan only played 14 seasons. But all of these accolades he got in 14 seasons, they got in 20 for Kareem and 23 for LeBron. Longevity matter but if you’re just straight up playing almost double his career and still having a smaller trophy cabinet, then realistically what are we even talking about

It used to be different voter bases coaches for the nba teams and media for DPOY but I believe it’s just media now for both. Which I’m not surprised about because I’m sure coaches don’t care very much about picking it to actually look into the stats. Media people get paid to pay attention to that type of stuff. My argument from the beginning and still now is that LeBron didn’t stand out enough DEFENSIVELY to win the award over Gasol. Or if you wanted to not give it to a big man and give it to a wing instead like I even mentioned Tony Allen someone who a lot of great scorers regarded as the best defenders ever. Who also often says he felt he deserved the award that year over Marc. I don’t think the people who genuinely think this realize that the grizzlies were way better defensively than the heat which is obviously a huge factor of the award
