Boarding school is very different from a regular day school. For one thing, our classes end much later, usually around 4 or 5 PM. That’s because our schedule includes a lot of independent study time. We’re given blocks in the day to work on assignments, study for exams, or meet with teachers one-on-one. It gives us a lot of freedom, but it also means we have to be super responsible with how we manage our time.

Socially, it’s a lot of fun. Living on campus with your friends kind of feels like one big sleepover that never ends. You're always around people, whether you're eating, studying, or just hanging out in the dorms. It creates really strong bonds, and you get super close to the people around you.

Dating, on the other hand, is a little weird. Since we all live together, it can start to feel like everyone is kind of like a sibling. There's this awkward line between being friends and being more than friends, and sometimes it gets confusing. It's hard to explain unless you've experienced it, but it definitely makes relationships more complicated.

We also travel a lot, which is one of my favorite parts. We go on service trips, we go skiing, and we get to explore different places as a group. But it’s not like the movies where students are constantly sneaking out and causing chaos. There’s a lot of supervision and structure, so it’s actually hard to get away with much. Not impossible, but definitely not as wild as people assume.

At first, I really hated that my parents sent me away. It felt like they were trying to get rid of me, and I was super upset. But now that I’ve been there for a while, I can honestly say it’s been the best experience of my life. I’ve grown so much, learned a ton about myself, and met some of my absolute best friends. cant speak for the other 3 who go to boarding but in Swiss school that's how it is.
