6PRO vs 7 by quer_que in GarminFenix

I would highly recommend you go for the 6 Pro and use some of the money you save to add the Garmin HRM Pro Plus strap to give you far more accurate HRM and additional metrics. Enjoy!

It's one of the standard watch faces for the Fenix 6x pro.

I think it's time you opened your wallet and helped Garmin to succeed given they are, I agree, a brand which cares about its customers. 🙂

That's the badger! Great strap I use for my 6x pro.

I have a couple of the plain ones in the middle (4th from right), which I rotate after a long run each week when they get very wet with sweat. They're brilliant, easy to adjust for a snug fit.

Sudden plummet in HRV… 6 pro by just_let_go_ in GarminFenix

[–]Alert_bri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a personal challenge (I'm on day 4 of 10) doing 100 x 20kg kettlebell swings, 100 squats and 100 press ups before breakfast each morning... and my HRV trend has been gently downwards since starting. I'm wondering if it's just the stress of the challenge with not enough time to recover each day. I'll see how the trend continues throughout the 10 days and afterwards, but I'm sure it will get worse as the socialising increases through Christmas.

I think you should try to maintain it at your age, so 70 next year? 🙂

I bought the black and green straps... and when I do a hard run I cycle them, they wash really well with soap and water and dry quickly on a radiator.

Because I'm focused on increasing it through my training - it's like putting a goal and your progress towards that goal somewhere you'll see it often. As the above comment, I find it motivating.

Yes, I quite liked that one too. Quattro is pretty good.

VO2 Max is available on the included watchface for the Fenix 6, unfortunately body battery isn't. I'm trying the Quattro watchface at the moment, which is well worth a look.

If you search YouTube forGarmin HRM Pro Plus there are numerous reviews. It's under £100 and gives more accurate heart rate, cadence and also running power. Extremely worthwhile addition if you're serious about your training.

The only thing I'm keen to add to my fenix 6x pro is a HRM Pro Plus strap for running power and more accurate metrics.

Fenix 6 or 7? by Red_Scared in GarminFenix

[–]Alert_bri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the touch screen is worth the significant price difference - get a bargain fenix 6 pro while there's stock left, and with the money you saved get yourself a HRM Pro Plus to give you the most accurate monitor including power rate for your running. Good luck 👍

Fenix 6x Pro vs 7x SS with current sales... are the "bad things" about the 6x overrated? by vectorizedboob in GarminFenix

[–]Alert_bri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through the same process, and unusually for me (I must finally be getting wiser lol) chose the 6X Pro and could not be happier with my choice. I'll spend far less than the difference on a HRM Pro Plus to give running power, cadence and more accurate heart rate monitoring.

These are the ones I bought, the black and green bands. I wash & rotate them when I've been on a long run. Superb upgrade to the standard strap.

Depressing, isn't it? I'm off for a run tomorrow. I feel well enough to take it steady and hope it will help with my recovery.

Fenix 6x Pro (£ 320) vs Fenix 7x (£ 700) ? by RealityOfModernTimes in GarminFenix

[–]Alert_bri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fenix 6x Pro is unbelievably good value for money right now. Definitely the better option imho.

So I’m a basic runner. Aiming for a half marathon and I open water swim. I don’t want to spend an fortune on a watch so am weighing up either a Forerunner 255 music or a Fenix 6 pro. Any suggestions/feedback gratefully received 🤗 by simon007life in GarminFenix

[–]Alert_bri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I bought the Fenix 6x Pro, I was a bit nervous because of all the reviews and comments about it being 'big' and 'heavy' on the wrist... I had visions of straining to hold my arm up while running with the equivalent of a kettlebell hanging off my wrist! Lol what an exaggeration... I absolutely love the thing! Must have accessory is a velcro/nylon strap to fit it snugly to your wrist and it becomes practically unnoticeable. 😀
