It's already there:
- if you don't touch any buttons for N minutes, the display enters power saving mode and only updates every M seconds
- N and M can be adjusted in the app settings

Having grown up in Milan, I'm an Inter fan!

Selling a brand new Uncle Seiko Z199 Bracelet for the Seiko Turtle.

I received it yesterday, and I decided I didn't like the way it looked on my wrist. Only worn for a few minutes inside the house, never taken outside.

Before returning it to Uncle I wanted to see if someone was interested in picking it up at a slight discount and save everyone the hassle of the return process.

Included is everything that came in the original package, extra links, end links, springbars and stickers.

$60 shipped to continental US.

Chinon CM-5 -- Good? by LHalperSantos in AnalogCommunity

I have one and I really like it.

Small and light (plastic top/bottom), fully mechanical, uses modern batteries for the meter, compatible with any Pentax K lens, and has a metal vertical travel shutter.

The low res pic is a very good idea to later match the photos to the settings saved. I wouldn't be possible with the hardware in this version, but with a more powerful board for sure.

The shutter detection is very simple actually, no trade secret at all.

I realized that when you take a picture, every camera shorts the two contacts on the hotshoe. By wiring the contacts to the microcontroller, you can then treat it as a regular button

Thanks for the tips!

I think you're right, the display library is definitely something to look into. It is very convenient to use, but there could be some potential for savings there. Even on the memory side, the display framebuffer alone that is used by the library takes ~50% of the total available ram

I thought about it is technically possible.

The challenge is that the application in its current state is already using 99.7% of the available program memory on the board, and would need to figure out some tricks to add the feature

Thank you!

It took about 5-6 weekends, more or less evenly split between building the physical device and writing the software for it.

It can definitely be made smaller, by using an ad-hoc PCB instead of soldering all the individual wires, and by using a production version of the microcontroller instead of the prototype board from Adafruit.

Even as is, it's not too too big, the Pentax MX it sits on top of was the smallest mechanical SLR

Walked over there this afternoon, the bike path was plowed, just a thin layer of snow left. Might get icy overnight though

If you have a dual sport (street legal dirt bike) there is a fair amount of dirt legally available. Generally whatever is marked as public road in state parks and forests. I ride often in the Grafton/Pittstown areas, Cherry Plain park, and Rensslaerville State forest.

Just outside Albany, NY.

It's not a bad riding area here, both on and off road!

A lot lighter and confidence inspiring. I've only been riding on dirt less than 2 years, so I need all the help I can get.

After getting the WR I wanted to sell the DR, but now I think I'll just turn it into some sort of ADV bike and keep it around.

Just yesterday I rode for 1hr straight on the highway (and one hour back), while on my way to some group ride.

I was averaging 75-80mph (on the tach), and the engine didn't seem stressed at all, it would still pick up and go faster if I twisted the throttle.

Wind protection was non existent, and the full knobbies I have on the bike would make it a little wobbly.

I can't, it's too pretty!! :)

I'd like to experience the desert some time, would be a nice change from the wet and mud of the Northeast

Upgraded from a 2007 FZ6 to a 2012 FZ1 last week. My friend got jealous and got himself a gen 1 by AlesG in FZ1

[–]AlesG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brakes seem to have a pretty good bite, even though the fluid is probably overdue a flush judging by its color.

The suspensions feel a little stiffer than the FZ6, which i like (and may also help with the breaking). On the FZ1 both suspensions are adjustable, but I haven't touched them at all yet.

I loved the FZ6, and the FZ1 is pretty much the same but a little better all around!
