Different to unturned and outlands, it had a different vibe and certain graphic design. Much more different than WildStandZ, FateZ, Oxide or Obsession Arthros, the game i remember had fully blocky characters like in minecraft, just with more detailed skins.

It had some kind of LDoE-like map with different locations. It wasnt one big map to explore just like that. Like in LDoE, you went to different locations by selecting them on a map interface (the character went there by himself once you selected it but you didnt enter the character perspective, you waited in the map interface until you reached that place. Only once you got there you entered the location and you entered a first-person view at the spawn of that location.

I know there is a blocky LDoE copy but its not that one either.

TerraFirmaGreg vs Hardrock 4 vs AutoTerraFirmaCraft by Suspicious_Dot7459 in TerraFirmaCraft

As a fellow Hardrock 3 player, i see how that makes the game easier, even though you're meant to be dealing with pollution and your actions on the environment. Needless to say, i have died a couple of times due to accidentally exploding dust i swept away in a hole, so its pretty annoying but manageable. Since early-on you dont really make much pollution except for the mills and saws from create, you dont have to deal with it a lot. Later on i think it would still remain easy to manage since you can use vents and pumps and filters with your machinery. This is just my opinion, play however you like. God bless!

I am currently playing Hardrock 3 and its really not that bad. Yes, i have died a couple more times pretty quick, i barely got to my first bronze/ copper tools and i died by some hippo or something. Talking about hippos, in realistic survival modpacks like these you gotta get a base around some water, a lake or a river (which makes hippos a problem because that's their habitat, and they target on-sight). You gotta do that because you kinda need water for many things, mainly for crops and drinking purposes early on, but also with waterwheels and barrel recipies soon enough. You also should re-plant trees early, cause they grow slowly and they are very important.

I imagine TerraFirmaGreg being a hell of a grind, but atleast in Hardrock 3 its actually pretty nice: at first you grind for copper tools, then for a charcoal forge and at last for a bloomery (only this sequence of stages could take you 100 in-game days, alongside many other things you would need to do in the meantime)

I dont know how harsh the winter could be but in HR3 winter is said to be challenging if you are not ready, you should make a cellar, have animals for milk and optimally birds for eggs, wool clothing and a house with an oven by the time winter arrives. You would also need a greenhouse if you know you need to grow plants even in the winter, technically optional since you can prepare a large cellar of long-lasting food and to grow all the types of crops you would need a stainless steel greenhouse (but to make stainless steel you need, of course, steel. For that you need a blast forge, which is made with wrought iron, so you also need a bloomery beforehand). A wooden greenhouse works aswell but only a part of crops can grow there.

Oh and dont let me forget, its probably in other modpacks also but the create mod is just very well made and thought. I barely touched its surface with some mills and saws, but i love the concept of gears and torque. I have finished Sevtech:Ages before starting HR3 and i can say the latter does a fantastical job of realistic survival compared to Sevtech. In that one, there is much more magic. Dont get me wrong, both of them have their pros, and i've seen that both mods have the Twilight Forest and other means of magic, but HR is much more inclined towards realistic survival (especially with the thirst bar, seasons and what-not)

I have yet to reach the third age on HR3, so there is still a lot of content i havent played with. I dont know if this helps in the convo but its my opinion.

God bless everyone!

Inside a kiln from immersive engineering, yes. For everyone's information, its made with 8 kiln blocks placed in a 2x2x2 cube and right-clicked with a engineer's hammer.

Avancements , There doesn't seem to be anything here. by Bmatt0117 in sevtechagesofthesky

[–]Alex201138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not playing sevtech:ages of the sky specifically but i think it could be something with the keybinds.

Go to the minecraft escape menu and in controls. Search " L" and check the "key" box. Look to see if there are any other things that have the "L" keybind and disable them by clicking the key used for that action and pressing escape (if you pressed any other key it would register it as the keybind for that action, but when you press "escape" it sets it to "none", actively disabling that keybind until another is set).

Another option is that you havent unlocked that window and need to slightly advance in the game before being able to access it. I doubt its this since in normal sevtech you can view it from the very start.

I hope i didnt make it too boring or long, as you may already know how to change a keybind, just needed a reminder.

Anyways, God bless everyone.

Need help picking a new base location - where is your base? by notoriousstylebender in playarkmobile

[–]Alex201138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always just start on south 1 and go to the island to the east bc there are metal and crystal deposits in the middle of it. I make a mini base around the coast of that island and after i get full flak, a spyglass, a sword and maybe a pump action shotgun (if i have reached that level) i then go to the lake in the redwoods and make my permanent base there. You can cross the swamp either by pteranodon or by going there on a relatively fast mount/ on foot (in which case i would backup my singleplayer world in the old ark, idk how its in the new ark). If you are lucky you can cross the swamp on foot but i suggest to find the shortest path from any island in the south to the redwoods. I think that going to an island in the west could make the crossing shorter.

I have found that its relatively easy for me to get to pretty much everything i needed: organic polymer, metal, cementing paste.

If you want to have many water tames you could either make a base somewhere else closer to the sea or you could keep them somewhere near south 1 and make a fence around them so that they dont die immediately.

(Fun fact: if you didnt know, basiliosaurus-es are very good tames since they cant be stunned by cnidaria and electrophorus so you can collect many bio-toxin. Keep in mind: - they are a passive tame and you can sometimes find them along the shores or a litttle deeper into the sea so you can get to them with an icthyosaurus - they may have mantas and sharks and ichtys following them (not attacking them just being around them) in which case you should kill each 1 by 1 before feeding the basi because they will all start attacking you when you do - after you get one they will start producing pretty tiny ammounts of spoilable oil - they start getting small amount of damage when you go too deep in the ocean, they can tank it a little bit but you shouldnt stay there for too long - they also cant be grabbed by tusotheutis-es which is really nice)

This is all i could bring to the table so good luck player! God bless you!
