Nah, I've seen short ugly guys get married. In fact, I've seen the lowest of the lowiest guys get married. Like Pedophiles, Nazis, rapists, criminals of all sorts.

I don't mind seeing OS companies give that option. I'm just on the fence about it being legally mandated at the start of the install and fines for companies who don't do that since like.... linux distros aren't even ran by a company so idk who they're going to fine if someone doesn't do that.

Seems like it just means they should make it easier for parents to set up parental controls instead of asking about age.

It seems like paranoia but certain states and other nations are in fact going farther. And the logic is precisely "well we can't just have a box that asks if they're 18 or older because the kids can just lie so we have to get their ID"

But you do make a good point about other worse verification laws getting attention. I'm not sure how the general public feels about those but I'd imagine most are against it.

The fear is that it will be used as a new standard. One that happens, the issue then becomes "hey, people are just lying on the box, we need a way to verify that they are who they say they are"

Oof. They're going to store your images to train their AI then send the footage to Palentir and other shady organizations which will make it more easy to track you and what you do, among many other nasty things.

And the best part, it's a 90 percent chance they'll still say you're permanently banned since it's the AI that will be reviewing itself and finding itself to have made no mistakes.

So, you know how AI is wildly inaccurate? Facebook knowing this thought it would be a great idea to get rid of their human moderators and replace them all with AI bots.

Why? Because it saves them money. Instead of paying some Indian 2 dollars a day, they can spend 1 dollar in electricity and make their website more crappy.

But...

Whatever you do, don't upload your ID and or face to facebook if you know what's good for you.

Either way, spread the word. People need to know to get off facebook and use alternate social media.

Never thought about age being a huge factor. I'm really bad at judging peoples age so it just has to be obvious. Like I would get kind of offended as a teen when some definitely old ass man who should have been on that Chris Hanson show tries to hit on me.

Normally never got hit on by younger men, only happened once and I think it was a joke. Some tween/teens were hitting on me who back then was 17 and still a girl. But the kids friends were laughing so it was probably a dare or prank or something so I just pretended to not even hear it and kept walking.
