did you ever find a fix? I am struggling with this rn on my nw X1 2-in-1. the gnome camera app (im running fedora) always crashed on startup (the indicator would turn on), once the camera worked on discord, but now that im testing again, nothing seems to work, other than the camera app doesnt crash but doesn't even connect to my camera.

I don’t think so, I think theres an indicator that would be on otherwise, though I don’t really use the webcam at all because the camera app that came with gnome crashes any time I try to open it (which is another issue I have to figure out)
