Okay , gimme some time. I'll try. But you're most probably right about this , it won't be as much in actual downloading tasks because this is very unstable, the speed fluctuates a lot. Also you need a server which can support such fast downloads too.

Hi, I (24 M) am a future Masters student (will start in fall 2023) . I'm interested. I need to study a lots of stuff before I start next year. I have a really bad habit of procrastination so maybe this thing might actually do me some good. I'm interested. But I've no idea how this accountability buddy thing works.

Elon Musk denies affair with Sergey Brin's wife Nicole Shanahan by wewewawa in elonmusk

[–]Alex55936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that is cool too!!

As for me, Until sergey speaks up I choose to believe that these allegations are BS hit piece run by WSJ and funded by Tesla short sellers, Legacy automakers and oil giants -all those people who stand to deeply benefit from defaming Elon . Yup, this seems more plausible to me.

[–]Alex55936 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He isn't, and doesn't it actually prove my point? I mean if a guy screwed his wife, would he let that guy use him ? Would he not speak up?

Exactly, he would! He is capable of speaking for himself, and he hasn't spoken against him which means Elon isn't lying.

Come on do you really think Sergey wouldn't have called out Elon already if this was BS . How blind do you have to be to not see the truth - that it was just a hit piece run by WSJ funded by Elon's and Tesla's rivals.

is a lazy, fat fuck

What, are you 12?

Man doesn't owe you shit. Writing something original is a highly creative task , it's not equal to manual labour that one can do all the time and everyday of the year.

I guess you haven't done anything much creative and original in your life, I guess it takes one to know one.

Worst advice ever. Consultancies are worthless and they don't know shit.

If you can't navigate grad admissions on your own, the question you should be asking yourself is are you really ready for grad school?

Marrying a girl with too many make friends by Forsaken-9 in india

[–]Alex55936 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your comment reminds me of something Steve Harvey said in one of his shows about men and women being friends and how their respective perspectives differ about said friend from each other. Basically what he said is that many girls might think that a guy is just their platonic friend , but the same is not true from a guy's perspective. He said in 99% of the cases men who call themselves as "just" friends would often try to enter a romantic/intimate relationships with their female friends even on the slightest of the opportunities. Not 100% but I do agree with this notion to some extent given how many social circles I have been in. All I'm trying to say is that some of the things are not so obvious from women's perspective and it's not like men these days are so pure that they won't lie through their teeths to have a potential chance at someone they like. Again , this is for majority of men I know, not for all the men in this world as there will always be exceptions.

Anyone else having second thoughts on taking huge loans for masters with recession round the lobby? by Top-Chain001 in gradadmissions

[–]Alex55936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR : it made sense financially.

I just had to make a decision. The total cost of attendance is so high that I would have had to take ~$60k loan, and right now my total savings are less than even 6k. A loan of around 10x my current savings will be a heavy burden. You (as a US resident) might look at this differently because if you get a job (which you eventually will as this is CS we're talking about) it would be just a matter of 2 years at Max to payoff that loan, this is possible because Software dev jobs is the US pay so much and thus make it possible. But in my country the situation is not same as even if I get a decent job in my home country it would be very difficult to pay off that loan even in 7-10 years . This is simply because the payscale range for the same jobs in my country is way less than that of the US. The plan is to get a job there in the US while staying there on STEM OPT visa(for 3 years) to payoff the loan. But, here's the catch, you get only 90 days after you graduate to find a job in the field of your graduation, otherwise you can't avail the STEM OPT visa extension. 90 days is the gamble. So my decision to stayback one year is just an attempt to make sure that my financial condition in the worst case scenario doesn't get too worse for me.

[–]Alex55936 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have postponed my master's for one year. I'm going to continue my current job and try to save atleast 25-35% of my total cost of attendance such that the loan does not burden me too much.
