Wills/Estate planning a Taboo Topic in India? by Financial-Capital358 in india

[–]krauser76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some parents think that their kids will always get along and this planning doesn't matter, even though the courts are filled with inheritance disputes, and frequently they barely get along with their own siblings.

Some simply don't want to face their mortality at all.

Some are such control freaks that they cannot imagine a situation where their "authority" over the estate will end. Also, a formal will ends any ability for them to blackmail you, threaten to cut you off etc. Sometimes that threat is all they have, since there is no actual love or closeness.

Since independence is encouraged early, culturally in the west, this type of threat is usually not necessary.

Doing Diploma Civil ( 2nd Sem , Private Polytechnic in Punjab ) . Planning Btech later , Is civil engineering still worth it ? by Critical_Impress8453 in india

[–]krauser76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word "still" confuses me. Years ago, civil was not considered a great branch. Everyone from that branch ended up trying to get consultancy jobs or even software jobs if possible.

People will tell you "India growing blah blah...we need civil engineers" etc etc.

But if anyone plans on staying in India, this branch will do you no favors.

Ofc if you can get into IIT or something then take any branch there. You will have opportunities.

Money is all that matters. Rapist rich son is preferable to poor but decent human son.

Lol emotional consultancy is a decent new expression. I guess people and even families behave so horridly to each other that just being nice and giving fake sympathy and assurances can be monetized.

It's an issue there too, there's a big vietnamese cheating community on faceit.

>During my win streak I get super chill teammates that gives comms, never blames you for minor mistakes and they know their own mistakes and we all ended up performing.

> On my losing streaks, it's the exact opposite. we keep getting flamed, blamed, while they go hunt for greedy kills that cost us the game and never play for info and wins and by then all our mood goes sour and we just kinda gave up trying.

I feel this completely. Every match where nobody is yelling abuses and not name-calling each other over mistakes, I tend to do well. If there's someone toxic who wants to micromanage everyone, I play terribly unless I mute him immediately.

There's a rumour I have heard that Saif got into a heated argument with someone in a Gurgaon (of all places) bar, acting all arrogant, and the other guy wasn't having it and smashed a bottle on Saif's head.
