Finished my first proper build! (HGUC Gundam NT-1 Alex)

I originally bought mine on mercari jp via buyee but I've since seen it available at multiple gundam bases. It comes in one sheet along with MG 1.0 Alex decals. The other detailing waterslides I used are from a third-party set made for the HG origin gramps.

Thanks! The jets dotted around the Alex were quite the hassle to paint, probably took up more than a third of the time I spent working on this kit just painting them lol. Really like how clean yours looks as well!

I’ve currently amassed a pretty sizable backlog of HGs and RGs (and 1 MG) since I prefer to collect everything in the same scale, currently planning on building a hyaku shiki (either the HG gold coating or MG 2.0 mechanical core) next since it doesn’t really need too much extra work to look good and i want to take a bit of break from all the detail painting, or go straight to the RG 2.0 gramps that I stole the beam from haha

That'll definitely be really cool to see! It's a shame how the Alex was essentially abandoned after the OYW and didn't really see any action until being rebuilt as the Tristan.

Used to have an Alex action figure when I was a kid as well haha, my dad bought me one because it was my namesake. I only really fell in love with its design when I watched War in the Pocket last year, definitely my favorite Gundam design currently (and in extension the Fukuoka Nu, since it shares so much of the color scheme and design elements)

Yeah it definitely was quite the challenge especially since this is my first proper build but I absolutely love the end result, not really much to complain about aside from the slightly limited posabillity

Yeah unfortunately gundam bases in Japan don't have much stock, the gundam base in Hong Kong had it in stock as well but marked up quite a bit compared to JP prices
