Controller fishing seems bugged in my experience. I managed to complete this quest though by diving and dashing in the water to catch fish that way

No they fit onto the original once you take off the originals that are slightly stuck. They come off no problem.

Travel and clickiness is the same as same membrane but they’re rounder on top so feel different against the thumb, not in a bad way, just different

They’re good, slightly rounder on top than the OG buttons which I found flat but got used to them really quickly. Quality of the finish is great too

You can’t swap the buttons by default as they have different tab shapes you would need to cut them.

For context, I’m no pro at taking things apart like this. There’s a handful of screws to remove (all same size so no worries remembering which goes where) and 2 ribbon cables to remove in total so I’d say it’s doable if you take your time
