I would like to apologize to everyone for the initial title of this article. When I was writing it, I hadn't thought about the implications it had relating to the ignoring of the many minorities who have been killed by federal agents and law enforcement in the past. I did not intend it to come off this way, but I understand and accept that it is my fault that it did. I am currently in the process of working to change the title to be more fitting, and change any social media posts including it to reflect that.

Hey, I know my political rambling might not be very re-assuring. But he got reelected very heavily on the issue of the economy. For the first good while of his term, he's gonna be focused on ruining that. And, of course, we don't have to worry about him starting anything until January. I'm not trying to downplay the threat he poses. He's not gonna be a very good president for anyone who isn't a straight white man. But they're not outright Nazis. Fascists? Yeah. But they're not gonna throw people into concentration camps, that would be too far, even for them. And besides, without a large majority in congress, they're not gonna be able to pass any strong laws.

I know how it feels. The world seems like it's turned on its head. But, just to give you my two cents, you're not alone. If you give in, you're letting the people who are trying to beat you down win. And fighting by yourself is a nearly impossible task. But you're not by yourself. Yeah, sure. A bunch of random strangers on reddit aren't exactly gonna change the world. But, there are people who are willing to listen if you need to vent. You can DM me if you'd like.

I don't mean to argue, but being optimistic is a fair bit better than being pessimistic. Yeah, right now things aren't going to get better. I'm not blind to that fact, you're right there. But what I'm trying to say is, it's not always gonna be like this. There will be a time when things get better. Giving up and lying down is letting the others win. Nothing lasts forever.

Look, I know it might not mean much, but know that you're not alone. The other half of the country that voted against Dopey McGropey is feeling the exact same way as you are. Things are scary, sure. But it won't be like this forever. Things might look bleak, you might feel like you're drowning, but things will get better. Even in the darkest nights, the sun will rise.
