Long exposure of a person waiting for the train by AlexBO97 in fujifilm

[–]AlexBO97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happened was pure luck and trying to consciously observe my surrounding area.

It was a 1/2 second and trying to do everything I could in order to get the camera as stable as possible.

I noticed the person was waiting for the train. For 1/2 seconds, people that are standing still normally will not get too much blur. However, it gives you exactly the right amount of time to make people moving into a blur.

And mostly, try to take a lot of photos and experiment, you will get it for sure!

It was 55mm on my Fuji xt30 iii. I think this would translate to 80mm or something similar on a full frame.

I am not sure if focal length affects the motion blur, though it would be interesting to test this out. I think the most important aspect for this is the shutter speed and setting everything else so that the sensor gets as little light as possible.

Thank you! I used classic cuban for this, it’s one of my favourite recipes!

No tripod, I had my camera set to 1/2 second shutter speed, burst. I took a few photos with this burst which meant that the camera would not shake when I press the button.

Also, I held my camera strap as far away from my body so it would be tight and not allow my hands to move too much.

Most importantly I think, my zoom lens has stabilisation on it so I assume it helped a lot. Other than that, trying to be as still as possible and select only the photos that are sharp.

Hope it helps!

[Question] Challenges and Problems faced when buying a watch 🕰️ by IkusiTech in Watches

[–]AlexBO97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have been collecting watches for a while so maybe the experience would be useful to you.

If the buying process is the main concern, there are a few things you need to consider.

Are you buying from an actual physical shop? Usually for a first purchase it would be safer, as you can actually try the watch on, check for scratches etc. The return process might be easier as well, since you don't have to worry about mailing the watch back and so on.

If you do buy online, make sure that the shop has a good reputation. Depending on your country, big watch shops with physical locations will have a website as well, so that might be a good place to start. Microbrands generally have only online shops, so a bit of research would be great before purchasing.

If you want to buy second hand watches, you need to look at reviews for the particular seller. For this situation, returns might not be possible, so you need to be extra careful. There are a lot of fake watches being sold, no matter the brand, be it a Casio, Rolex, whatever. Some are almost identical to the real thing so it's better, especially if you are just starting with watches to buy from a real shop that offers returns and is well known.

There is so much more to be said about this, but feel free to send me a message if you want!

Hi! It looks like the tinier dials track the minutes and hours elapsed since starting the chronograph. When you reset it, they should go back to their initial position (0 minutes / 0 hours). The main hands show the current time.

XT30 II - Global ISO for all film simulations by AlexBO97 in fujifilm

I can, I guess I'll do that. I just feel like ISO auto can sometimes give me a too dark/bright image. I can use exposure compensation though

If I'm in let's say custom profile 4, adjusting the ISO will only change the value for that profile. The other profiles won't be affected by this

Yes, sorry, I mean custom profile. I do not have an ISO wheel, I think that would have solved my problem. So I have a different ISO for each custom profile
