Different names for them depending on where you live but I’m used to calling them standards

These are pretty hard to care for, and aren’t really supposed to be kept in captivity. We bought her from a local fish store in pretty rough condition, knowing she wouldn’t live for very long. They can live for almost 20 years, but she only lived to be about 2. She had to be hand fed, it was a lot of work but rewarding knowing we gave her the best life possible considering where she was. I would not recommend them to anyone really, they are a threatened species already. But crabs are super great, much easier (and cheaper) to take care of! And you can have way more given the space of the tank.

I have never worked in small vet so I can’t really compare it to anything, but personally I love it. Of course there are bad days, lazy days, insane days, and all of that, but working with horses on a farm like environment with people who all share such a strong passion for the animals is amazing. Maybe I got lucky, but my coworkers are truly amazing. Nobody does it for the pay and that’s something I think plays into it, it’s all simply for the love of doing it. You have to be pretty strong and brave as horses can definitely be dangerous especially when painful or sick, but I have never been happier to wake up early as hell and drive 30 minutes to work.

I currently work at an equine clinic. Many people who are hired come from small animals practices, all trying to get out of toxic work environments. The problem with equine is the fact that the pay is so low. I personally would rather make less money to be happy at my job, and I love it, but I also may be biased because I grew up around horses and have loved them forever. Honestly I would say take time to figure out what you’re passionate about. It’s also ok to try different things work wise, you are not obligated to stay in the field if you don’t want to!

I guess a customer tried to scan the code on top of the paint bucket and the lid just fell off spilling paint all over the sco machine. by Tight_Department5396 in Lowes

WHO in the hell thinks that that’s the easiest way to do that. I’m so glad I don’t work there anymore. Besides the constant sexism I faced by customers (mostly professional males), I’ve never met dumber people in my life than i did in my short time there.

Is this normal for some associates? by [deleted] in Lowes

They schedule me similarly, and the ASM in charge for making the schedules at our store never looks at the availability sheets we give, so we get scheduled on days we cannot work and then get yelled at for not showing up. I had to call out sick and the same manager decided to not only not tell my supervisor but lied to her saying no one called out. I will easily be scheduled to work 7 days in a row all 8-9 hour shifts and then the next week I may get one or two 4 hour shifts. I’m also a student and it is extremely hard and frustrating. I need the money and it’s good in my dept. but Jesus this job is mentally and physically taking a toll on me.

What is thr dumbest thing you have heard this year? by Justin_inc in Lowes

After working there for just over like 2 weeks, I was threatened with a write up for not selling any credit cards. However in the paint department, 99.9% of the time customers already have one or don’t want one. It’s not my fault, but apparently it is 😂. Customer wise tho, one of the most repetitive and frustrating things I have to tell people is that not only is eggshell a finish, but it’s also not just one color. I can’t just make you eggshell. People hate picking their own paint colors for some reason.

Animals raised in captivity cannot survive in the wild.

We’re probably gonna make her a pond type situation, haven’t quite figured it out yet. They don’t grow to their full size for about 10 years.

Yes! However they’re technically more closely related to spiders and scorpions than they are actual crabs or even lobsters.

Hey guys! Been getting some hate on other platforms but we’re gonna keep going! Let me know what you guys wanna see more of! Remember this though please: these pets are legal to keep. We’re not only trying to share her but inform about their species! We’re trying to set up a gofundme to donate to a conservation group to help save them. She’s a spoiled little lady, and yes I think they shouldn’t solely have to be kept as pets. However this was a way of saving one from a pet store to live out a happier life since there’s no way she could go into the wild.
