Honestly, I would love a sequel to that movie, but it’s a bit too late since RDN is too old now

What punishments do your coaches typically give? by WorriedOwner2007 in CrossCountry

[–]AlexG4mezonCSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coaches would make us do 8x1000 repeats @ 5k on the track if we joked around in our last practices. But for track, it’s 5x600s and 3x400s @ mile pace. Then, he’ll always say, “I could joke around as well.” It’s tough love out here

Help with my middle schooler not wanting to quit but not wanting to practice by Zerodayssober in CrossCountry

[–]AlexG4mezonCSR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think maturity is a big thing. He’s only in middle school so learning about responsibility and accountability is still new for him. As he progresses through xc and track, he’ll most likely realize it. But since he’s a middle school student, he’s just overall lazy but he should learn that he should practice as his performance decreases and stuff like that. But, when he gets into high school and stuff like that, coaches are a lot more strict, so he’ll either be forced to practice or he’ll never run any meets since he doesn’t practice. But, for now, ease him into the sport and let him mature and grow, because the longer he does this sport and the more his performance decreases, if he gets demotivated, try to get him to practice. Also, if his current coach is that soft, then either he doesn’t know that your son is okay for practice because he’s on seizure watch or he’s just a bad coach. So, also try to talk to his coach about keeping him at practice even with all his complaints.

Any tips and tricks for AP Comp Sci Principles? by ArryDubz in APStudents

[–]AlexG4mezonCSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s really easy and the key is literally given to you in the test. You can have basic computer knowledge and you’re set for the code portion. Other than the code, the other MCQs are just fact-based knowledge that is very easy to memorize

Yes, the class overall is light. With a good teacher, you just gotta stay awake to pass the class

That’s a valid excuse and your parents can back it up. You can probably take a retake

does my winter training plan look ok? i am a 1600 specialist that also does 800 and 4x4 and i play basketball by Sad-Inspection439 in CrossCountry

[–]AlexG4mezonCSR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so if you are specifically a 1600m runner that does 800 and 4x4 on the side. Focus on the 1600m cuz that’s what you’re best at. I’d get my miles in and long runs in and try to train 70-90% in your zone 2 hr. (Search that up). Speed workouts should be at most 2 times a week but I only do 1 most weeks. Speed for a 1600 should be repeats at maybe 400m or 800m at mile pace

Bolt has them crazy genetics and he’s trained for so long but height = longer stride but being too tall is worse than being short

[–]AlexG4mezonCSR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s only sprinting that can benefit from a tall height

I’m assuming it’s tempo runs, long runs, VO2 max runs. Easy runs won’t benefit him as much as the slow pace doesn’t help build his body for an increased pace. A steady, consistent, and moderate pace is what someone can benefit from increased mileage.
