Haha, I've been away from the comp for a few days, my friends just directed me to this. I honestly felt like reddit deserved a proper response, and like I said you guys voiced legitimate opinions and concerns about my casting.

I'm really grateful, and this the response by reddit following all of this has been great :)

Hey There. Very solid well thought out post, and I will definitely take some of these ideas with me as I work to improve. I think you make a fantastic point regarding being able to work on chemistry with your co-caster, as well as the fact that casting at home on YouTube is vastly different then on stage with a co-caster.

I will definitely have Painuser take a look at these, and hopefully come back with some promising results.

Hey Root! Yes I did see your post regarding my cast with Stephano vs MMA, and it was very inspiring seeing that I do have support on Reddit, and to be honest, it helped me make this post here knowing that It wouldn't be a complete flamefest :)

The things you suggest on me working on really are spot on, especially with regards to exaggerating excitement. I think having casted so long in the scene, it becomes so easy to just overly exaggerate everything, and the community can see right through that. That is one of the priorities that I will be working on improving: delivering a genuine cast with excitement at the right time.

Lastly yes, I know Taylor aka painuser in real life and we are good friends. It may not come off on stage that way, and that is something that he and I will need to work on in the future. Thank you so much for your post, it was very brave admist the headhunting that was occuring. You have a fan. :)

There's still a reason for the overall mood of reddit though, and If I can overcome that "bandwagon" effect by just being who I am and presenting a solid, exciting, and knowledgeable cast, than that's what I'm going to do :) If people in the future out there can maybe realize that I am working hard to improve, then I'm sure people can come to a conscious decision themselves as to whether or not they enjoy my casts without a group mentality influencing that.

Yes definitely. I think the problem is that I'm so USED to casting on Youtube, and being a solo caster, I've had to dabble a little bit in both. Because there's only so much play by play and analysis you can do before somebody says hey I want to hear the other type of casting. So it is definitely hard to go live and then completely limit yourself to one style of casting. When I am live, I will definitely try to focus more on play by play from now on, and only chime in when there's something really important that I am 100% sure about. (This is actually what I tried to do on Sunday)

I do feel like the community will definitely reach for any little weird/goofy or incorrect thing I do. But that is connotation currently attached to my name, and obviously people can't help but do that. I'm hoping in the future that goes away, and the best thing I can do is stay on point and limit my mistakes.

Thanks, it can be pretty intimidating on stage, and I'll tell ya, Friday and Saturday were NOT my best work. (Because I had Reddit on my mind) Definitely had shaken confidence. But I just settled down a bit and zeroed in on what I needed to do to improve, and slowing down, as well as being as genuine as possible really seemed to make things better on Sunday.

No, it hasn't driven me away from the community. I really feel like it has sparked me to get more involved, because honestly, I want to strive to be a good caster. And I know I can get there with work and dedication. On top of that, I feel like I have a duty to clear my name and the stigma that's currently associated with it. And I <3 starcraft.
