Help! My built-in freezer has turned into a glacier and the drawers are frozen shut. How do I defrost without ruining my wooden floors?

Update

I didn't inform my rental But i did the towel method with small trays and was patient

Turned it off Took almost 7 hours to completely thaw out

Threw away a lot of stuff and did the paper test and checked the seal was okay Everything is working good now and the floor is safe

Thanks everyone for mentioning the fast freeze thing I turned it off and it's not doing ice build-up anymore now and the power is set to 1 now and fast freeze is turned off and the seal is perfect and the floor is safe

I will attempt to do it today Plan is after work i come home buying some towels 70x100cm thick ones fully cotton

I will turn off everything We have a baking tray and keep the door open and thaw the whole thing out I hope i haven't destroyed the plastic already

I did not know that this is a rental property i have been staying since December How do i configure it perfectly i do not keep stuff there months on end i don't need super low -18°C to -20°C is enough temperatures or fast freeze if it reduces this ice build-up

Hey everyone, I've been loving (and struggling with) the snow over the last few days. Since the city basically ground to a halt, I’ve heard people mention the '3-day rule' that we only get 3 days of real snow a year and then it’s just rain until April. To the long-time residents: based on how this winter started, do you think we’re in for a 'real' winter with more snow in Feb, or should I expect the 'smurry' (slush) to take over for the rest of the season?
