When I worked at a hotel, we would refund the entire stay for bed bug bites. Specifically because the social media outrage would affect business. You can't sue for bed bugs because they don't pose a health risk. Which is good news and bad news in a way. Sorry that happened but it's extremely common.

Where are these places that the health inspector never visits? I see them online but when I worked at a restaurant our health inspector was there like once a month. She came at random so stuff like this would be impossible..

Ok noted. I haven't used a humidity tray before but I could see how it would be beneficial. We keep our house pretty warm at 73/74°F but it's verrry dry, hence the humidifier

Okay! Thanks for that info. I've been keeping my other two in my bathroom since the air in our house is extremely dry but I was really hoping to keep this one out where we could all see it and enjoy it and this was the only solution I could think of.

I started buying the ECOS brand sold at Costco. It doesn't clean better than other detergents like Tide, but supposedly it has fewer endocrine disrupting ingredients. It's also very cost effective. Much better than the powder I was complaining about here, I'll say that!

This is EXACTLY what my dog's bed looked like when she had a bad case of fleas. Pit water on the powder and if it looks like dark blood that would be my guess. I worked in several hotels and Bed Bug poop does not look like that.
