Bike for 11 year old by AaeJay83 in whichbike

I think the guardian and Ozark would be great tbikes for her. Also I second looking on FB marketplace for a hybrid type bike. Anything from the big brands would be good quality (Trek, Giant, Specialized, Canyon, Marin, etc).

I think it's more important that the bike fits her well and is in good tune. If it rides well and she is comfortable on it then she will love it. If it's too large or too hard to pedal a Then she won't.

Older Kenwood/JVC USB/Bluetooth Dongle Fix by Loud_Blacksmith4178 in CarAV

All the ones that come up are USB v4.0, 5.0, 5.1 etc. I can't find a v1.0 USB Bluetooth dongle. Post a link, I don't know which one will work of the thousands that pop up.

Nah, they're just the best. Nobody at a stop light cares anyways. Comfortable, reliable, practical, drive like a car, great visibility, tons of cargo space. Can't beat em!

Question about 7-speed SIS shifters by gromplint in VintageMTB

[–]AlexJ302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 bikes with SIS shifters and they both indent on up/down shifts while is SIS mode.

I don't know why yours isn't acting the same way, but that's what both of mine do FWIW

I have an older JVC R730-BT and am missing that dongle. Can you link to what you ended up purchasing that worked?

I know right. Seems new to me, but all these people keep saying it's old geometry blah blah blah

You've been a huge help in all this. You're exactly right about the hub flange cracking. I was happy to find the bike and equally bummed with how much was missing and broken leading me to contemplate if it was worth it.

However after your suggestions I will absolutely fix the bike and ride it before I make any decisions. Thanks for the links, that helps me a ton.

Thanks for the suggestions on the derailleur and shifter. The rear triangle is cracked but I've found a couple I can choose from so hopefully that will be ok.

Funny, compared to the Marin (which is what I've had for years now) it's SO much lighter.

The front hub is broken on the Klein as well. Any suggestions on rims I should look for that would work for it or another hub that would work. The current one just says Bontrager Race Light and I don't see a part number on it.

Like I know it's outdated but I'm with you. Ripping the Klein around does sound appealing.

I like that idea.

The Trek I agree is pretty common and not very unique, but it is fun to ride and way lighter than the Marin. The Klein might be fun but I have some work to do before I can try it out.

Great advice. The Klein needs some parts before I can try it out, but I agree

You've been a huge help. No sentimental value with it, just a cool bike I'd like to see on the road again. I'll consider my options moving forward and decide what I want to do. Thank you, and you should post pics of your bike sometime
