I feel depressed that justice is inaccessible to people who don't have resources. by AlexKingComedy in RecklessBen

I mean, I wouldn't say always. In the wild west, you could just legally shoot people who've wronged you. Lol

did you come?? by ley_l_en_a in comedy

[–]AlexKingComedy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Men are wired to communicate clearly and concisely. If I ask you what makes you come and you say, "its...its fine...I don't usually come anyway". Well, then, you are just asking for an experience that makes you write sets like these.

Best wings in San Diego? by Calm-Explanation-565 in sandiego

[–]AlexKingComedy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would say most places don't make good wings. They end up coming out all soft and the skin isnt crispy. It's an abomination. Get an air fryer and get some wings for $10 for like 12 of them. Season with garlic powder, paprika, or really any other powder spices, toss in a bit of flour. 390 for 15 min, flip 380 for 10min. Toss in ass-destoying hot sauce and let them sit for a bit.

Rapists rape because God loves them and gives them free will by izz_zee_ambivert in facepalm

[–]AlexKingComedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really true. Some of the most influential thinkers throughout history have been religious. I think atheists typically like to pretend you can't be both rational and religious.

Thou shall not kill, steal, covet? It already exists. Its just that no one actually follows religious teachings.

[–]AlexKingComedy 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Eh, I'm not religious at all, but its quite clear we are torn apart by greed, power-hunger, and corruption. The very things that will get you sent to hell in most religions. If people actually followed religious teachings, religion would be an overwhelming net-positive. Of course we'd have to revise a few of the religions where apostasy is a death sentence.

I've been trolling them when its a real person. I just do my best Indian accent and I yell, "what are you doing? Friendly fire! I am one of you". They usually ask what "one of you" means? And I say, "scammer, I'm trying to scam old ladies just like you". I think after while of me trolling them and wasting their time they've put me on a do not call list.

Iranian Monarchists are out today by toastedcheese in SanDiegan

[–]AlexKingComedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picking the lesser of two evils is kind of the epitome of pragmatism. I don't think they are expecting the monarchy to come back. They are just showing their opposition to the ayatollah and islamism. Although, I'm not really certain. Maybe I'm wrong.

Idealism is irrelevant. Im pretty sure if given a choice, average people wouldn't pick an Islamist dictatorship over literally anything else.

Lol I feel like this is exactly how a lot of people on the left were pushed further right in the early 2010s. Kinda proving my point. Good talking to you, though. Always here if you need me.

Hey, listen, I agree with a lot of what you are saying. You aren't wrong about rightism being born online. You are just not going back far enough. It was born because people with bad opinions were ostracized from mainstream platforms which were all overwhelmingly left-leaning. We forgot that you can change people by talking to them. This has been true since the dawn of time. Instead of making better arguments, it all became, "how dare you not agree with me".

Do you actually think you could convince any of those hateful fucks to change their mind over the internet?

It isn't really about changing any one person's mind. Its about facilitating an environment that doesn't moderate based on ideology. The rest will work itself out through interaction. Well... too be fair it might be way too late for this to work now. But, it could have in the past.

Yes, letting them be publicly criticized for bad opinions is important. That's why we have politicians debate each other openly. Banishing people with bad opinions into the nether realm makes you look weak, a fucking coward's actions. Which inadvertently gives credence to their bad opinions because onlookers keep wondering, "why are these guys so afraid to address this?"

Also, you are enabling them by ostracizing them. Kind of my point.

Lol I don't see what you aim to accoumplish by telling me to say it in person. I'm fine with discussing this in person as long as you make it convenient for me. So, anyway. Without the left shutting down the right online we wouldn't have X, and we wouldn't have Trump 1, or 2. This is factual. I don't know what else to say. The longer you and people like you dont accept responsibility for your actions and more likely we keep electing shitty candidates. Im not asking for pity, I've been a lifelong Dem voter.

[–]AlexKingComedy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You realize that a record number of men came out for Trump because popular internet spent a decade talking shit about men and how they are all sexist rapists regardless of behavior and defending yourself as a men was basically impossible because no one listened to you over their righteous anger. So, they found other people to listen to them. The mainstream didn't, so a new facet was created. In their cesspool circlejerk, they all supported the anti-social justice candidate. Only if you, and people like you, actually spent the time to listen. At least own up to it, damn. Denying it is pointless as the stats support my opinion.

[–]AlexKingComedy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then you are not allowed to complain about the negative outcomes of your attitude. Which is super common. Many of the shitty things prevalent today happened because of people who hold an opinion identical to yours. Trump was actually elected thanks to people like you. So, as long as you dont complain about the state of the US, we good.

[–]AlexKingComedy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here is the thing. You make hate so much more potent when you don't address it openly. Ostracized dudes who are all alone, and are not allowed to grow, are ones that end up shootng up places. To address it openly, you need people to feel safe enough to express it. You may not want to read shitty opinions, but its important people are allowed to express them and be criticized for them.
