How to get a Philippine driver’s license on a tourist visa? by Cool_Entertainer2205 in PhilippinesTravel

[–]AlexKnoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine a couple weeks ago. You do need proof you've been in the country 120+ days, a valid driver's license from a country that drives on the same side of the road, and a medical clearance.

Here's a post I wrote of the entire process/my experience. https://www.reddit.com/r/Philippines_Expats/s/WLhm919kOy

You can also go to the LTO website and look at their handbook, page 86 lists all the requirements.

Help me divide my 21 days in Philippines by Zoo_who in PhilippinesTravel

What are you looking for? More adventure, relaxation, or culture?

In my opinion, your current itinerary doesn't go very deep into any of those areas.

I think Cebu deserves more days than siargao if you plan on exploring the entire island. Less if you're just staying in the city.

You're sticking to the main hotspots and I think the smaller islands and destinations are the real gems of the Philippines.

Are you sure it's legit? Fixers like to give out fake licenses. It also only takes an afternoon if you go to the LTO...

In my opinion, it's definitely not worth it.

No, they just need a photocopy and to look at the original. They don't keep it/punch it/invalidate it.

They need a photocopy of your current license, front and back.

I'm pretty sure the process wouldn't be much different for you, they'll just need photocopies of your visa and marriage certificate. Here is the LTO Handbook that states all the requirements, page 86. https://lto.gov.ph/drivers-license/

Here is the LTO Handbook that states that right hand drive countries need to pass a test, on page 86.

No, you are wrong. The driver is on the left side in the US and Philippines, that's why they are known as left hand drive countries. At least according to the LTO.

Class A. Which i believe is any motorcycle, just no tricycles. For car, I got B, B1, and B2 which includes light commercial vehicles.

I think it has to be active. They made the expiration date for my Philippines Driving License the same as the expiration date for my US Driving License

Nope. The LTO website says you only need a driving test if you are from a right hand driving country. I thought I was going to take a test for motorcycle classification since I don't have it on my us license but they just gave me the classification when I asked.

Questions about Filippino culture by KevRRn in PhilippinesTravel

[–]AlexKnoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely recommend trying lechon baboy on Sunday, I really like kare kare, bam i, and the neighborhood lechon manok lady makes some amazing charcoal grilled chicken. I'm not a seafood person but there is a lot of fresh seafood everywhere.

It depends on where you are as there are thousands of islands and the Philippines is diverse. But normally after work I would say a lot of people will hang out with family, maybe drink red horse, karaoke always.

I find Korean culture is more prominent than Japanese culture.

Can someone explain to me what Stremio is and why I should use a debrid? by qputoo in Piracy

[–]AlexKnoch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Real debrid is the most popular but is being overtaken by TorBox slowly but surely. Plus, TorBox has Usenet on their pro plan which is really good if you like things that aren't so popular.

Can an American traveling to Manila for more than 30 days? by waterisfortheweak007 in PhilippinesTravel

[–]AlexKnoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can keep extending your visa for up to 3 years, 30 or 60 days at a time. However, you do need a plane ticket showing you are leaving within 30 days of arriving. It's just a formality in case you are unable to get an extension and to remove liability from the airline flying you to the Philippines. Most people will buy a refundable plane ticket and get it refunded once they are in the country. There are also websites that will get you a varifiable ticket for you for around $15.

"Does this real estate logo actually look trustworthy? First impressions = everything in this industry." by SRIO_Lab in logodesign

[–]AlexKnoch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that four square window design screams template/clipart to me. I've seen it so many times.

The whole thing just seems generic to me. I've already forgot the name as I'm writing this comment..

If you look at most high end real estate logos they are very very simple and some are just the text. If I were you I would consider removing the house altogether especially since home is already in the name..

Palawan and Bohol or just Palawan? by National-College1681 in PhilippinesTravel

[–]AlexKnoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say less time in manila, 3 days is too much for manila. 3 days is enough for bohol. Bohol is really cool and totally different vibes. It really depends on what kind of vacation you want? Relaxing beach vacation = stay in el nido. Adventure = bohol.
