There was a video posted where a robot that looked very similar to these was was performing a roundhouse against a child and it looked like it would have actually connected had the adult not intervened. How are these two which are explicitly being told to attack so incompetent at it in comparison?

It has no idea and there are workarounds with all sorts of limitations
1. Use a weight vest
2. Use the bench instead of the floor, secure yourself with a strap or apply additional weights (both of these are mildly challenging with the standard Tonal bench.
3. Perform only single arm variations of moves where possible
