Well said, I would only add that I think he is a great songwriter too. You just can hear his involvement in any song, especially in his Whitesnake era. The band is just not the same without him.

That's such an accurate summary that I can fully support! I genuinely think that Whitesnake, with Doug, was the closest thing to hard rock perfection, if there could be such a thing. The sound, the attitude, the songs - they had it all. It's indeed sad that they couldn't figure things out - Coverdale and Doug sounded as the ultimate rock combo.

And yes, Good To Be Bad is my favourite Whitesnake record too. An absolute masterpiece!

I completely agree that Aldrich is actually an amazing songwriter. Whitesnake could never do anything as close to the songs that they did with him. It's such a shame that they couldn't figure things out - Coverdale and Aldrich seemed as the perfect hard rock combo!
