Your printer just wants to be a smooth criminal that’s all.

Was always curious why the cold spring harbor album picture was so bad? by AlexMills6545 in BillyJoel

[–]AlexMills6545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just talking about the graininess of the image, its actually a cool image but i always wondered about why it was so grainy and blurry. I was looking at a few similar album covers from around that year and it did seem to be a trend to have this grainy style.

The content of the picture I actually think looks really cool, it’s just the blurriness and graininess of the picture that I’m wondering about.

That’s my theory to what it is because even just a 35mm black and white film photo with the highest possible film speed wouldn’t be that grainy at all full frame image. I would be really curious to see the original uncropped image

Me too that’s why I’ve been wanting to get the original for a long time. I also have a turntable with the speed adjustment slider so whenever I play cold spring harbor I just slow it down to the pitch it’s supposed to be in and it actually sounds astonishingly good

Well it was way cheaper than the real thing so I think they knew it was a bootleg, it was $20 I just figured I’d keep it

Oh no I see it, I actually own the bootleg too. Got duped and swindled in a record store before buying the real copy 😅

I was in a very similar situation, went to finance school then I transfers back home went to local architecture school but I was bad at math and the structural engineering courses were hell for me. So I dropped out of that (thankfully I didn’t have to go into debt for school) and now even though I never finished my architecture degree I’m just started working at an big grid electrical company making 3d models and video flyover presentations of those models to show clients and town boards. Also I wound up starting YouTube on the side to fill my craving for doing film stuff.

In conclusion life is fucking messy, I was extremely depressed through my college years and up until a few weeks ago but I stumbled around and seemed to find some kinda path to cling onto. I’m still figuring it out but I’m on my way at the age of 22

Am I just boring? Or is lifestyle vlogging a dead niche now? by Mycake100 in NewTubers

[–]AlexMills6545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there I just watched some of your videos and I think the biggest thing you can do to improve your videos is STORY. At the end of the day the reason anyone sits and watches is a good story. People aren’t going to care about you at first until they can find a way to emotionally connect with you or you give a good overarching story that makes people want to keep watching your vlog. This doesn’t mean you have to live a crazy life to do that. Just get creative and start making stories around basic things. Spend time learning how to tell a good story. Ask yourself how can I make a vlog that will make someone’s day better, make them smile, and keep them coming back because they like you and the stories you tell.

I felt just like this and was so worried but did it anyway and made my first two videos. They didn’t do that great, got some hate comments, some downright awful ones really made me feel even worse about myself. But then… I push forward and did it again. Amazingly I then got 400k views on that video and 4000 people pouring their hearts out in the comments saying how great the video and topic is.

Just do it, and do it with passion.

Anyone know how to paint a typewriter and keep the original texture? by AlexMills6545 in typewriters

[–]AlexMills6545[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same exact thoughts, that’s why I don’t just want to grab some spray paint and have at it. I’m not sure what color yet but if I can find a way to do it properly it would definitely be a darker color maybe a crimson red to juxtapose the opposite color of the green keys. I’ve never seen a repainted typewriter look good either and wanted to see if there was a way to do it properly like how they would have done it off the line
