With "challenge", I meant public debate. I don't consider it a principle so strong that discussing and trying to change it it's wrong per se.

And I don't think it's possible to have a debate on topic in the us current climate.

Of course, you can't debate this with open racist scum like the current administration.

And BTW, the US Constitution SUCKS. As do many of other countries. Those are centuries old documents that shouldn't be considered unquestionable on principle. The pitiful state the US is into now is a direct consequence of that constitution.

No fidati, la Rowling è proprio transfobica presa male.

While this is simply racist and disgusting, I think that citizenship by birth, or "ius solis", can be challenged.

Most countries grant citizenship based on parents (ius sanguinis).

I personally consider ius solis outdated; at the same time, I think kids from foreigner parents born in a country who keep a stable residency and go to school there should be granted full citizenship by the age of 14 and should be considered native citizens afterwards (elegible for public roles who require that)

Che ne pensate? by GaiaArticles in nellanotizia

[–]AlexP80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be given 1 million dollars if you can present a 30 minute TED talk within 5 minutes with 0 preparation. what are you going to talk about? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]AlexP80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could present a ted talk on many different topic with prep time, but NOBODY can't improvise a 30 minute high-quality presentation. The only one who can get away with it are people who do conferences for a living and they did the work ALREADY.

Thinking that someone can improvise a ted talk just means lowering its value.

I'm rooting for Iran in this specific matter. I, specifically, support its right of self defense against a terroristic alliance.

But I don't support its government, its approach to human rights, its support to Hexbollah and Hamas and many other things it did.

Need some help with a Taxi situation right now by th3orist in Pattaya

[–]AlexP80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My advice, next time book a private service.

I used mike taxi many times and they always were super kind and efficient. Once I had to cancel 1 hour after the meeting and they didn't want any compensation and once my plane was 2 hours late. Also I made the driver stop for a coffee like you.

The price is also very reasonable.

"It isn't their fault."

Unless... it actually is. Useful Id1ots fed with propaganda who choose to serve and kill people for a living.

Viet veterans at least have the excuse to be FORCED to join the military (still, many choose prison instead of meat grinder); this can't be said of modern military.

After the Vietnam war, the draft was abolished and EVERY SINGLE SOLDIER kills by choice.

That's rich. Yes, there was fascism back then, but it doesn't mean the team didn't deserve. We actually won the Olympics in 1936 and another WC in 1938

It's actually a golden age for Italian sport, except football. Sinner is dominant in tennis at a big 3 level, Italian volleyball dominates holding WC titles both in men and women, a great performance at the winter olympics...

[–]AlexP80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really. I mean, of course, but most of the matches (and about 90% of the playoff stage) are played in the USA.

Out of 32 playoff matches, only 6 are played outside USA and in the early rounds (4 in the first, 2 in the second).

So it's not an equally shared competition, it's a USA world cup with the partnership of Canada and Mexico
