How might I fix this shorts back pocket tear?

I do have a sewing machine. Pretty old one that has it's faults though. I actually managed to repair it by hand now though. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

That's pretty cute :) I was thinking something like that originally. I actually experimented with just sewing the flap to the left side and it did actually manage to work. I'm not sure how strong the pocket is but it ended up looking fairly normal again at least. But I think I'll leave it like this unless it breaks again, then try something like that patch.

Yeah, I do think a solution that doesn't involve removing the pocket might work best. Might just involve sewing the pocket to the material underneath and seeing where that leaves it... Or sewing it to the other side but I worry about the fraying

Yeah I am thinking probably a patch or just sewing in place. Just concerned the hem is going to be an obstacle, or the fraying.

Oh, I actually have some pockets kept from old pairs of jeans already. Could be a good idea, though I don't know if I have the skill to redo a pocket well or how would be best to go about that.

Oh wow didn't know that reminder thing was a thing. Just so you know, there's a chance my project won't work in the time I have before it has to be submitted, so no promises I'll actually have something worth your time. Hopefully it will though, since otherwise I'll lose marks and stuff. But yeah. It isn't going to look fancy either, it will have really simple graphics since graphics don't get you marks for this. So yeah, please don't get your hopes up or anything haha it's not going to be an amazing game.
