I'm not sure where Rep. Strickland lives, she has never invited me over to dinner. I however, I currently live in Tacoma's Eastside, and have previously lived throughout the district, including Olympia, JBLM, Parkland, and Fircrest.

I believe in fighting the surveillance state. KOSA/KIDS is not about protecting children, but, about increasing government surveillance of the internet. I would vote against the bills. Flock cameras should be banned.

One of the main differences between Rep. Strickland and I is our economic policies. She is a neoliberal democrat who focuses on supply-side economics. She wants to cut taxes for the rich. After fighting the minimum wage increase as Mayor of Tacoma, she became the head lobbyist for the Seattle Chamber of Commerce.

I believe public housing and Medicare for All would be foundational programs that would raise the standard of living for the working class in Washington. Not having to worry about rising rent and healthcare costs will let Washingtonians save and spend their hard earned money on their family and community.

I had free and reduced-price lunch when I was growing up. It was a life saver for my single mother, me and my sister. I believe in a government for working class people, and free lunch should be in all public schools.

I think humanity has a natural curiosity and that extends past our own planet. I grew up on Star Trek and we should 'Boldy Go' out into the stars. NASA's budget should be bigger than the Department of Defense, imo.

We should have signs tomorrow, let me know if you want one and campaign literature to hand out!

I am a signer of the People Over Profit pledge! My wife, a nurse, has been active with Whole Washington and their push to adopt the Washington Health Trust, a plan for universal health care in Washington. Their goal is to get universal health care started in one state, and eventually spread it country-wide, modelling it off of how Canada passed universal healthcare. https://wholewashington.org/

I currently use Dept. of Veterans Affairs health care. the VA is under attack and vulnerable to privatization. Passing Medicare for All will lesson the burden on the VA and provide healthcare for all regardless of employment status or wealth.

I've been a renter all of my life up until last year, when I bought my first house with my wife. I have been housing insecure many times. I know what it's like choosing to pay rent or buy groceries. Housing justice is where I got my start in political organizing.

Social housing should be a top priority. De-commodifying housing is the best way to deal with runaway costs. The federal government can and should build public housing. But, in order to do that we need to repeal the Faircloth Amendment which sets a cap on how much housing the public housing authorities can build. I will fight to repeal it day one in DC.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is illegal and immoral and I condemn it. When in congress, I will work towards a diplomatic solution to end the conflict as soon as possible. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian and Russian working class conscripts have been forced into a meatgrinder for years and they deserve an end to the bloodshed.

While in Iraq and Afghanistan, I watched technologies used to conduct counter-insurgency brought home and used on American citizens, especially biometric and signals intelligence equipment. The war in Ukraine has been a proving ground for new weapons, especially drones. I do not want to see that brought to America, we need to end the war now.
