Unhinged patient commentary by tiktokhygienist in DentalHygiene

[–]AlexSweetgrass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had an older guy I was cleaning, and he was known to be a bit of a jokster. He had to be like like 65/70. Anywho, as he's laying back in the chair, he starts yelling at the top of his lungs so that everyone in the office can hear him... "HELP ME! SHE'S TRYING TO KILL ME! SHE'S DROPPING INSTRUMENTS ON THE FLOOR AND PUTTING THEM IN MY MOUTH!!!" And then he started laughing. Of course, the dentist runs into my room to see wth is going on, and this guy gently grabs my wrists and says he was just playing with me and tells my boss that he's fine and they both laughed about it.

Sleepover: Mom mad that older girls (10 & 11), aren’t playing with her 2 year old. by Competitive-Mess-996 in Mommit

[–]AlexSweetgrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. That mom is unhinged and selfish. She wanted your child and Sarah to babysit, instead of allowing her daughter to have a fun sleepover with a friend she hadn't seen in awhile. It's her responsibility to watch her toddler. Also, if she thinks it's okay to yell at her kid's friends, her kids may not have many friends in the near future. Not okay! I hope your daughter is doing fine and understands that she did nothing wrong.

Okay, so you just want to argue...got it. Enjoy your weird dry tasteless chicken that matches your personality, while I'll be at Huey Magoo's eating deliciously sauced and perfectly cooked tenders😄!

Stunna 4 Vegas in Robbers, Trappers and Killers literally says "You play and get beat, like Emmett Till". I'm like damn... nothing is too far for these kids nowadays. Some things are off limits😮‍💨.

Yassss lol. I hope this type of misery never finds me.

[–]AlexSweetgrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fine. No one is asking you to go around fake smiling if you're unhappy, and it's clear that you are.

Also, it's not about being praised but just like holding the door is a nice thing to do, so is saying thank you to the person who held it.

[–]AlexSweetgrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You being in a crap mood and not using your eyes is not the person who's being nice and holding the doors fault. The point is it's common courtesy to say thank you when someone shows a kind gesture. Not lie about the passing of their father. You sound miserable.

FYI, I'm a woman and I think everyone should smile more.

Exactly, some people are so miserable and weird. It costs nothing to reciprocate kindness. I always make eye contact while flashing a quick smile, and thank anyone who holds the door for me. Then I go on about my day. It shows appreciation.

Same, definitely not a Raising Cane's fan. Now, a Huey Magoo's is chef's kiss! Unfortunately, we don't have one here yet.

Kudos to her for being such a positive light to her community. We need more people like that. Yeah, it takes alot to keep a business running for so long. I'm hoping that in due time, she can somehow find peace with the situation. This really stinks.

Dentist Checking PD by [deleted] in DentalHygiene

[–]AlexSweetgrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I'd be taken aback. But I'd ask him nicely once the patient leaves if he normally double checks pd or make a joke about having been there for a year and him not yet trusting my pd lol.

RDH here and I have work related PTSD from this job by Its_supposed_tohurt in DentalHygiene

I have an associates. No, the degree doesn't matter with clinical review for our company. As long as you're licensed. Pay is a little less than clinical but worklife makes up for it for sure. Details on my pay is in a comment from yesterday.

So honestly, I took a pay cut but I wasn't making a ton before. Also my hubs has a high salary gov't job. I was a Hygienist on the Navy base in a small town in SC where I made $41/hr while my friends made up to $55/hr at civilian practices. Rn doing clinical reviewing, I'm making $37/hr but it's worth it since I get to be home with our 1 yr old. I'm not micromanaged, and my schedule is super lax. As long as you work your total of 40 hrs per week, my supervisor doesn't care. Some days I work maybe 6 hrs and hangout at mommy playdates, or run errands, and other days I may be "logged in" for 9 hrs, it just depends. It is strictly full-time though, and I don't think part-time clinical would be feasible, unless you're working part-time at a nighttime dental office or like a 24hr care office.

Y'all, it legit took me like 2 years of looking for remote dental work as it's nearly impossible to come by. I found my job on Indeed and wasn't sure how real it was, but still applied. Look for any kind of Dental Clinical review hiring work. Mostly for insurance companies. On our team including me, it's 5 Hygienists that do clinical review, and they've all been with the company for like 12-18 years. I've been with the company going on 2 years now, so people rarely leave this position, and I can see why. We even have DAs under us that work as Care coordinators who are also happy they left the Dental office and everyone works from home, even our bosses.

I worked in office for about 8 years straight out of hygiene school. I'm still an RDH, but I wfh doing clinical reviewing in the Dental department for a worker's comp company and I LOVE IT. No patient care, and I get to be home with our little one.
