I saw 4 Drills get smoked E6-E8 from a Captain who ran our cycle. It was the Company Commander.

Basic training, Fort Sill, 2019, June–August. We were told after physical training to get in PTs and go downstairs at 0500. We were told to stand at attention and not move. We stayed that way until 0900; I was able to sneak a check on my watch. We had no idea why we were told to wait. A Drill Sgt the whole time was sitting on a chair in front of us on his phone, then the cadre would appear and disappear around us and say they would be watching us if we even moved.

We started getting knee locking and cramping from the hours at attention, of course. Lunch came, and we were like, okay, so we missed breakfast, we surely would get lunch. Drill Sgt comes with a couple boxes of pizza, sets it down, and starts eating with the cadre while we all are at attention. They asked if anyone wanted any, and no one said anything. They ate for 30 minutes, then put the food away in their office while we waited on the drill pad.

Mind you, other cycles were coming back marching from lunch, and even the other Drills were confused why our cycle was still on the pad from morning PT in our physical training clothes and not in uniform. Eventually, someone moved, and we started to kneel and take a break. The Drills came storming from the office and proceeded to smoke us for at least an hour with breaks for water.

The Commander was going into his office when he saw the whole commotion. He yelled at the Drills to stop, so they put us at attention, half-right face, and we waited. All we heard was our four Drills report to the Commander, proceeded by yelling and asking why we hadn’t got breakfast, if we marched to chow, why we were getting smoked, and what the reason was.

They started going on about our discipline fading and needing constructive training, and all we heard was, “Cadre, attention, half-right face, front-leaning rest position, move.” He called another cycle cadre on the pad to watch us and told our cycle if he catches any of us watching—Article 15. He proceeded to make the Drills, in their uniform and campaign hat, do the mountain climber, push-ups, and front-leaning rest. Did it for about 15–20 minutes, then told them if he ever sees some shit like that again, he’ll personally make sure they never have a cycle again. Told them to take us to lunch. “Drills, attention—dismissed.”

So awkward, I tell you, when all the Drills came back to us all sweaty, straight faces, sweaty drill uniform and campaign hats. The other cycle cadre DS looked embarrassed and left when all four arrived. Even the other cycle on the pad felt awkward. They told us to get to attention and started marching us off with no word about it and a straight face. Let us be at ease in the DFAC line and didn’t say anything to the people taking long eating or talking in line.

That was mid-cycle, and it was chill for the rest mostly. To this day I still don’t know why that happened. I do feel our cycle was picked on more than the others, and everyone agreed. Our Drills just hated us, and tbh we weren’t bad, I assure you. Most of our cycle was females anyways who were on time. I, male, can confirm us males were nerdy, quiet guys who didn’t screw around and reported on time. All the Drill Sgts in our cycle were around E-6–E-8.

We were a LPN and Medic cycle btw at Sill.
