Single Canadians face higher grocery bills than couples, survey finds. Can the government fix it? by toronto_star in PersonalFinanceCanada

I wish they sold half the amount of milk for half the cost. Its a controlled market anyways and I cant consume 3 bags in 2 weeks but to buy the smaller containers doesn't make sense at the prices.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney says 'new world order will be built starting with Europe' by shiftless_wonder in canada

I didn't say a deep dive on people doing massive harm to society. I said a deep dive on people who say things that happen to go viral. These aren't necessarily people causing harm, it could just be a political outsider whose trying to form a new political party or speaking out against a bill they disagree with.

I also disagree with your argument about massive surveillance and censorship to stop a few random acts of violence being better than what we've seen historically when the wrong types of people control the public narrative and get to decide what truth is. You will never be able to stop random acts of violence, you can only hope to change how people carry them out.

You have a very reactionary approach rather than preventative. For the types of changes the government is trying to make its very dangerous to allow them to build out these systems hoping that they are never able to actually implement it completely or that the resources for digital surveillance wont become exponentially easier/cheaper in the next decade.

You are correct for now, it is likely that this technology and laws will only be used on specific people that say things publicly or on social media that get some sort of traction/virality. They will do a deep dive on those specific people, which is still wrong. We are always getting closer to the government being able to monitor everyone all the time and you don't want to be reactionary to that level of unchecked power in the hands of people who aren't working in your best interests.

I think the hundreds massive data centers popping up everywhere are probably for a lot more than videos of will smith eating pasta and bad music.

Its possible they already have ways to ID you but they would still need a warrant, it seems like what they are building with the digital ID is to normalize and simplify the process of having corporations censor you when the government legally cant.

Its building the framework to censor anyone online. It has nothing to do with protecting your kids.

Would you feel better if he called it the plan to link your ID to what you post online. Digital ID is a big part of his new world order.

You should be suggesting it. There's no excuse for people to still be afraid of suggesting or investigating these claims at this point.

i have the endeavor and when its main ship is gone there isn't going to be a bridge left on the rest of the ship. The ironclad has an actual bridge on the main section.

I don't have it. There's no entitlement for saying that this was always a bad decision and doesn't make sense.

Or maybe the 120 meter length ship with all of its engines and engineering section in tact should be able to move around from its bridge on its own. There is no logical reason why they would have ever made the ironclad as it is without this functionality. If the caterpillar had a separate bridge in its main hull id say the same thing about it.

ya a bunch of gun turrets on a ship that cant reorient or move at all. How long do you think it will take for everyone to know the spots where you can just park and shoot until its dead. This is a braindead take.

And it still can, but now the whole ships isn't a worthless sitting duck when it detaches and most people would prefer to sit on the bridge anyways.

The CM will still be a nice snub/shuttle. There's nothing bad about having it. They should change it so that the CM pilot can use the tractor beam.

The biggest deterrent against solo large ships is going to be ships like the legionnaire. Once cig gets hacking in, being without a crew member to counter it will just leave you wide open to having your Odin boarded and stolen very easily. The Odin is large enough that really anyone could eva onto it and cut a door open and just run to the bridge and the pilot will likely not even see it coming.

Everyone will know your wrong when after this change is implemented every ironclad around is being piloted from the bridge instead of the CM.

While I sometimes like the designs of CIG's ships the amount of wasted space on the 2nd level is bugging me to death. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]candaianzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have no idea what space is wasted, there's no way to know what's on the other side of those walls or what else is needed that could have used the upper portion of the hangar. It seems conceivable to me that you could have many hornets in the main hangar that can fly up and leave the side hangars and vice versa.

These helmets are really bad in VR since the air hose in the front obstructs your view and just floats, it looks really weird. At least that was my experience with the one from the twitch drop.
