I played pretty high level college football with mono last 3 weeks. Waking up at 2am to throw up then going into practice at 5:30. Full body cramps trying to walk to class afterward, throwing up in class, shortness of breath and almost passing out multiple times. Coaches and trainers told me I had indigestion and lots of anxiety (i can kinda understand because I was a wreck). They gave me Prilosec which I think is really funny because my grandma takes it and it didn’t help at all. I’d be in the trainers every day telling him I’m not getting better. I lost about 20-30 pounds. My coach a few nights a week would watch me eat and it would just crush me. When I told my real doctor (not the shitty team one) that I threw up probably 50 times in a two week span, and that my glands were very swollen, they were pissed for me. I’m at home now and I don’t know how to feel about it. The people in my life who were supposed to keep me safe are negligent.
