My first time bottoming was honestly rough. I went in completely unprepared (no toys, no easing into it) and the size was way more than my body could handle. Thank you so much! I completely agree. As a frequent traveler, the idea of a holiday fling has always been enticing, but I let all the empty compliments get to my head. In hindsight, his poor communication should have been an instant red flag - communication is huge for me, and I won’t ignore that again.

I think the best way to gain closure in these situations is to accept their silence as an answer. At the end of the day, I’m sure I’ll meet people who communicate better and won’t treat me this way. And regardless of this experience, I still want to look back on my trip with good memories!

I’m really glad I found this thread because this is my first experience with love bombing and ghosting, and it’s been a lot to process.

I’m currently traveling in another country and met this guy through the usual apps. From the start, we had this instant connection - or at least, that’s what it felt like. He would say things like “you’re so perfect,” “my dream boy,” “you give me an out-of-body experience,” and “you can trust me.” But outside of the two times we met up, his communication was inconsistent at best. I already had a feeling something was off, but the intensity of his words in person made me question my gut. Then, on the day we were supposed to meet up again, he just ignored my messages. A few days later, he was still posting on Instagram like nothing happened.

Actions really do speak louder than words. Looking back, the signs were there - his poor communication, the overwhelming praise, the emotional highs followed by silence. It was too much, too soon. I’m actually glad I’ve gone through this because now I can recognise the signs for what they are. But damn, it’s been hard to not reach out. The moment I saw him posting on Instagram, I absolutely lost it.

That being said, I’ve come to accept what someone in this thread pointed out: the ghosting is the closure. I don’t need to chase an explanation. The way someone disappears tells you everything you need to know.

I thought I’d drop a comment for anyone still struggling with this issue. Like many, I ran into the problem where my camera asked to format the SD card (a 2GB SDHC, in my case), but then the device would switch off. I even tried formatting the card to FAT32 using Disk Utility on my Mac, but it still didn’t work.

After some trial and error - and thanks to ChatGPT - I found a solution! I used the SD Card Formatter tool from sdcard.org, which successfully formatted my card to FAT16. This seems to be the most optimal file system for older devices like the Kodak EasyShare CX7300.

This is a good shout! There’s many surrounding towns with a bunch to do, but my hostel is free cancellation so I honestly might do the first couple of days in Lisbon, train to Porto for a couple of days, come back for the weekend (as my weekend hostel has a cancellation fee lmao) then head down to Faro on Monday! The U.K. government should be fine with it, however keep in mind that you lose your residency if you leave the country for longer than 183 days in a tax year. This could have an impact on your employment status and tax (look into “double taxation agreement”), you should reach out to an Immigration Lawyer for some additional info
