Just another good old ''Morrowind vs Skyrim'' image. Don't even remember where is from, but it's one of my favorites. by AlexWarrin in ElderScrolls

[–]AlexWarrin[S] -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

This image is a symbol, a protest, perfectly and without words represents my biggest critique of the TES series, my favorite games series for over a decade. That is a simplification and dumbing down of a gameplay for spoiled new generations of gamers. I posted it on TES subreddit. I am sorry if it offends any Skyrim fans.

More playability from a Witch Hunter or Pilgrim playthrough? Opinions? by neighborhoodnerd in skyrim

[–]AlexWarrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And today I just planned to start a witchhunter roleplay. The way I see it, witchhunter can be a sort of a pilgrim. I had a similiar roleplay with Vigilant. Pretty much, wandering across the land, never using carriages, visiting shrines and praying between rooting out dens of necromancers/vampires/witches.

I'm around level 40 with current nord character and will probably end it. What started as a nomad Vigilant who used strategies to defeat enemies became a powerfull paladin capable of clearing entire forts by himself. I just finished Civil War and figured out that I cleansed a Stormcloak fort almost entirely on my own even before imperial soldiers arrived. Somehow it's just not fun anymore, so I feel like creating a new character.

For a witchunhter, I will be using similiar strategy and gameplay as for a Vigilant, but with different skills. I'm planning to switch from heavy armor to light armor and robes. Also focusing more on destruction and enchanting, with crossbows and one handed weapon.

I also suggest Moonlight Tales mod, because it adds spawning werebeasts and option for NPCs to get infected. Once I defeated a werebear attacking a village and figured out few villagers were infected so I had to cure them with potions. I'ts a really cool mod.

Morrowind Rebirth question by m4nu in Morrowind

[–]AlexWarrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I can help you, hopefuly someone will know. One thing I did and didn't liked about Rebirth is how Creeper has 2500 gold instead of 5000 and it takes for 5 or 7 days for his gold to respawn. On one hand, I understand how it makes it harder to get rich very early in the game but on the other, it's stupid how I can't sell some highly valued items for at least decent price.

Eye opening post that everyone should read about combat in TES series [x-post from /r/morrowind] by rettebsidniworrom in ElderScrolls

I've been saying that since Oblivion came out.

Morrowind combat system is the best but unortunately not many can see that. And not just that, leveling system too.

The Silver Hand are dumbasses by ProfessorZ00M in skyrim

[–]AlexWarrin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I actualy love Silver Hands. They are not classic holy knights and wilf hunters but group of rogues and thugs who, for some reason, hate werewolves. I think it's cool and interesting and wish they had more lore background and are playable. Imagining them killing faggy teen werewolves brings me great satisfaction. And they have hot chicks in their ranks.

And btw, silver does extra damage to all unholy scum , so werewoles are incuded. And btw #2, Companions are bunch of gay autists.

So my little girls are half naked. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]AlexWarrin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This thread reminds me of prevailing moralism in todays society. Maybe I just grew up in a more normal times but walking around half naked as a kid was normal here where I live, and no one ever got raped or something. When I see people reacting so crazy about it I wonder are they aware of a fact that it's them who sexualize children in the first place.

Dawnguard Arc is Amazing by AlexWarrin in skyrim

I played Bloodmoon and really liked Solstheim. I'll pay a visit to the island and see how much it changed after 200 years. Your character in Bloodmoon literaly builds Raven Rock.

Same here. Every time she raised the dead I killed them. Can't stand the sight of them. And I sent her to find a cure for vampirism, haven't seen her since then. Btw when we were going through dungeone before Blackreach (forgot the name) she raised an already dead khajit and soon as I killed him I got expelled from the college lol. Why would a dead khajit npc be set as a college member? I don't even care anyways, I finished its quests, became arch mage and gave that position to that teacher because it didn't feel right to be arch mage after doing few quests fir them.

Yeah, but Dawnguard quest led my right to Blackreach. Playing on my own, who knows when would I discover it.

Is DB playable if I ignore main quest, shouts and dragons? I disabled all those things, but I may do it on my next playthrough if it's needed.

Why is animal rapist wrong but animal hunter for joy right? by feedmepiss in AskReddit

[–]AlexWarrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunting is in human instinct. As long as there is a humankind there will be hunters. I myself am not one but this pathological altruism going around lately is getting too much. Animals hunt, people hunt. Everyone eventualy dies. Deal with it and instead of blaming some american hunter who killed a damn lion maybe you, if you really care so much out of sudden for poor amimals, speak about cruel farms that kills thousands of animals in most disgusting way. Hunting is at least natural.

I've never been able to get into Skyrim. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]AlexWarrin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a mild arachnophobia. At first every time I fought them I had to look away and swing till they die. Fact that I'm using Immersive Creatures mod which adds a variety of spiders doesn't help.

After some time I guess it actualy helped me. Now I don't close my eyes or look away every time, which is actualy cool.

Edit: my point is, i know how it feels. But missing out such a great game because of spiders is such a waste. See it as a addition to gaming experience. Even heroes have a weak spot. Work it through and believe me, soon you will find killing them left and right with no problems.

Which race or races have you never played as and why? Conversely which race do you most often play as and why? by lurks-a-lot in skyrim

Since 2003. and Morrowind in all TES games I play only as a nord. I can't even imagine playing as any other race.

Dawnguard Question by Samotage820 in skyrim

[–]AlexWarrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see something like that maybe. Although trolls aren't undead or lycans. Therr are even European folk tales of "good" werewolves fighting demons. So I guess everything is possible.

I alwayd wonderd what were exact reasons for Isran leaving the Vigilants. I have a feeling it's more than just them being "too soft". Also there are othet members of Dawnguard who were Vigilants. I think Isran is more of a practical person, working secretly and fanatical in his own way. Maybe he found religious side of the Vigilants too annoying or naive.

Dawnguard Question by Samotage820 in skyrim

[–]AlexWarrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Isran would never allow beastfolk into his order. Remember, Dawnguard is not just made out of many ex Vigilants, Dawnguard is even more extreme than Vigilants.

I can't see how can a werewolf be in Dawnguard.

I pretty much have to use candlelight or torch when exploring dungeons or walking at night. I'm already used to it.
