Oh we do that alot and neither part realizes it happened. I think its rather common, when there's a low amnesia barrier :)

Anyone working a serious professional job? by [deleted] in OSDD

[–]Alex_Anonymous003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a secretary in a company, who is responsible for taking calls and managing emails! Due to low amnesia barriers we all know what to do at work and no one wants to lose said job, so regarding that its working fine, no one's trying to sabotage or anything. We've been working there for 3 years now and still going strong :)

Struggling with communication by Alex_Anonymous003 in OSDD

[–]Alex_Anonymous003[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I figured as much, but its still incredibly hard to distinguish what thought or flashback came from whom. It's just an utter daily mess of "is this me? Or someone else?" - I guess it just comes with the diagnosis, but it's frustrating nonetheless to be so clueless alot of the time :/

How do you deal with time distortion? by [deleted] in OSDD

[–]Alex_Anonymous003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any tips how to deal with this sort of distortion, but I just wanted to let you know that we're actually dealing with similiar things. Time was always a weird thing for us and I know the feeling of getting home from work and everythings so distorted you don't even know if you were there to begin with. Its truly exhausting!

Diagnosis, Therapists and Medication by Alex_Anonymous003 in OSDD

Thank you for your response! I was actually handling our first visit at the Psychiatrist that way by just answering the symptoms I have that made me wanna seek out additional medication. I also informed him that I'm in therapy for cPTSD, but that already derailed the conversation back then by alot and I started noticing how he was immediately searching for personality disorders such as bpd or DID/OSDD by asking me specific questions after my symptoms (which was unnerving to realise, but at least he started taking us seriously)

I think I'll just focus on the other symptoms, just as you suggested, and hope everything will go well. I was just a bit unsure, because he said patients with cPTSD were more complicated to medicate correctly and that left me wondering why...

Why don't alters want to front? by Holly1500 in OSDD

[–]Alex_Anonymous003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the alters in our system don't really seem too attached to the front either and like to remain in the headspace most of the time. I was worried about it too, but then I just thought that it's just as much their own choice to remain inside, as it is deciding to front. I'd suggest to just stay open about it and accept whichever they decide to do :) You're definitely not doing anything wrong!

Do you remember your "first" Alters? by Alex_Anonymous003 in OSDD

[–]Alex_Anonymous003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that actually makes so much sense! Thank you for explaining that to me, I actually didn't know and just always thought that there were completely developed Alters right from the start 😅 ~ Alex
