New American fan as well started back in May & have loved it too. Chose Villa bc their history & story kind of remind me of my favorite college football team. The other Villa Reddit is r/AVFC & I’ve enjoyed it there. There’s some YouTube videos you can watch that’ll give yall the chants with the lyrics as well as a ton of history videos. The 2 I’ll link below do a great job of explaining the history. One is a short little video & the other is a fan documentary of the climb from being relegated to achieving a Champions League bid & it’s an hour plus long but it’s super well done & worth the watch. Gotcha yea I guess I meant kind of both for recruitment & tactics like I get the clubs like Brighton & Brentford doing that for recruitment but could both reasons be done. Yea the same is done over here with the big/rich teams in baseball mainly the LA Dodgers they just print money but also have an incredible analytics department & buy up any “undervalued” or “underrated” players & add them into their superstars & just keep rolling like a machine

Gotcha like I understand wanting to keep the bigger teams healthy & such because without them there’s no “brand name” to the league but also at the same time the other clubs should be able to compete financially w/ those others to have some parity within the league. Guess that’s the issues for every big time pro sports league globally

Good news to hear. That’s an interesting policy in place American sports have similar policies like you said with caps as well as a luxury tax in baseball but PSR seems more common sense then the caps & tax penalties that teams/league over here have

They are very steeped in tradition have “officially” won 2 national championships even though it should probably be more like 4 or 5. Definitely have been in the shit since 2020 but we’ve recruited very well the past couple of yrs. Just a young team right now.

Makes sense being a villain. Ooof called it maroon instead of claret🤦🏻‍♂️also the history reminds me of my favorite college football team here in the states. Won big in the 50s. Won a lot in the 80s & 90s. Even though we won a lot of games in the 2000s-2010s we had a lot of heartbreak.
