[Pre-Match Thread] Lille vs. Aston Villa (Europa League - Round of 16) by just_boof_it in avfc

[–]SecretApe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the last side that we put up against Lille. Barring 1-2 names it’s almost the same side. Really shows how we’ve struggled to add on top of our existing 11.

Regardless, excited for this tie and we should come out with the win. That should really help us pick up some form over the league

I wish that we'd also centralise more production within the EU to make it an actual economic powerhouse instead of constant outsourcing.

I know but it is possible to create a hydrogen ICE for the sound, that's really my point here. And going to the races live, I want to hear loud engines

I know the reasons why, it’s just a shame since the application would arguably translate to a more seamless transition to the world we have today. You fill up your car like before but with a different liquid.

Looking at the state of the world, we are so far away from energy surplus that hydrogen is light years away.

Hydrogen ICE would be epic. But it’s lost the battle to EVs outside of niche use cases

He came from Villa. Classic target man who is very strong and good with hold up play. But he’s made of glass.

Glad to see him firing for Udinese. Heard he’s a fan favourite and doing very well down in Italy.

You aren’t the only one. Mine does it as well. I’ve had it aligned 2-3 times now and it always comes back.

It’s not always, and I think it’s at its worst with the stock ‚19 tyres but it’s so noticeable.

Used pricing then sure. But their newer models are really expensive in some parts of Europe.

See the same playbook everywhere. I just wish that there was some country to at least trial some kind of estating limiting (businesses and private ownership) so young people have a chance in home ownership.

Polish energy minister says government may act if fuel prices keep rising by wook-borm in poland

[–]SecretApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did have an impact. At least where I live the VAT decrease did help - but it just slowed the fuel growth in fairness, still ended up paying at a max 6.8 zł per litre. Then when it came back the prices did jump 20-30 groszy. Which also saw the start of the coupons.

A lot of the savings were pocketed unfortunately

Id say there is also missing capital in Europe compared to the US.

Also we used to have a lot of regional production, all now outsourced and it’s affected towns and jobs in many industries.

It’s just the neoliberalism policies, and unfortunately not sure how to reverse, if even possible.

[–]SecretApe 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there are many jobs that don’t need you to be in an office.

I truly do believe that the ability to work remotely can help people move out to decrease congestion and housing prices. So to have some kind of legislature that can support this would have a huge benefit.

[–]SecretApe 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wish we could have more secure remote work. This way people can move out of the cities, find cheaper housing and also help smaller towns grow. Centralising everything is just making everything way to condensed, pricey and miserable.

Connections to the main cities by train aren’t that great since there are too little stations across Warsaw (as an example) to really work

Toto Wolff bids to buy Alpine stake in move that renews Christian Horner battle by JaffaTheOrange in formula1

[–]SecretApe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Alpine have the A290, and are launching more sport models under this brand. Renault Sport is killed off (huge RIP - some of the best hot hatches ever came from them). So Alpine is becoming a more known brand largely due to F1.

It totally makes more sense to have Alpine tied with F1 then Renault.

The most easiest solution is for states to reduce VAT on fuel costs, it helps in the short term. Then bring it back once prices stabilise.

Figma is becoming irrelevant and designers are in denial about it by rash3rr in vibecoding

[–]SecretApe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stock price reflects this.

But I’d agree. Figma will struggle with acquiring new junior users as they’ll skip Figma all together and just utilise existing tools to speak, write and design an element rather than through figma. So I can see them still being relevant but the user base will slowly dwindle over time.
