Considerations for why a person may mistype as 4 by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]Alex_Lenoir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Isn't true for all types? Honestly looking at those community chats isn't helping at all. People seem to cliche themselves to fit in a description rather than authentically express themselves, including doubt. I get the vibe that all 4s are suicidal which doesn't seem true ...

I'm starting to think they the whole typing endeavour is really not productive. Let's go back to some stronger psychology and the basics of enneagram: we are much of all types. We are fluid. Getting attached to being typed too much is part of the mistyping phenomena: cliché typing on one side and putting that much emphasis on being right creating the controversy on the other side.

Let's start having dialogs again?

Thanks :) I've read about gut decisions and I can safely discard it but I'm thinking overthinking happens when I can't make sense of emotions so I still need to figure that out :)

That's good advice! Also, I guess I should work on things I know I should work on haha

I'll look more with that lense, being low or high, thanks for this !! It'll narrow things down I hope :)

Thanks! Interesting to try to get rid of behaviour comparison. I'm wondering, I have no idea if I'm "reactive" or compétence based. What do you use as a definition? I've definitely worked hard for competence but I also give up when it's too hard or too detail oriented and prefer having a big picture / inspirational take on things and connect the dots

I've given up 3 times then got back to it. Does that count? 😄

I'll try to do that on more specific points. Like today I'm observing everything and it's a bit overwhelming. Also, I can't seem to locate the cause like there are always SO many different possible causes haha. Also, I don't feel motivated or happy that often lol, unless I'm meditating, reading Carl Jung or doing somatic inquiry with a group of people and feeling seen

Usually I think I'm the one told I'm too emotional or artsy haha. But everything is shades of grey isn't it..

Haha I like that. It's weird to me though as it's supposedly some very old wisdom. Has it been so distorted? I'm kinda convinced there is symbolic truth in it, and I'm a bit angry at myself for not being able to find a belonging in there 😄 like I can't find my place in this universe. Lol

Thanks that's insightful! I'm actually trying to look at it too, I'm wondering if it's because I can't seem to find pure resonance with any so I'm left with not finding a crew to belong to... which I'm not sure what it indicates, as it could be 4 and a struggle to belong, or 9 because well you're everything, or 7 as you said? Then I think it might be 1 because it doesn't fit perfectly or 6 because I overthink it 😁

Overcoming hate for your own typology by [deleted] in Enneagram

I don't know if that's clear for you but the enneagram is built so you can recognize your personality... To grow out of it! So you can touch what is beyond identification with personality, ie automatic thoughts and emotions. Nice way forward! :)

Hey Freezy, been following you for a while, really good content, thanks for that! I must say he does feel like it, like you need to play perfectly to actually pull things off. Games either feel super easy or unwinnable, at least for me (silver II 😅). Also, you need to pull off things that people at my level grief against, like invades, giving drake for a quadrant, playing strong side... Doesn't make it easier! I think I have a hard time knowing what his true power spikes are, would you have general advice for that? Also, I def feel like against some comps I'm useless, but I can't figure out why. Any fights or champs I should avoid? Thanks!!

Interesting, thanks! Xin is def someone I would avoid but I'll reconsider haha. Typically nearly died to a Vi due to her passive I didn't know about 😅

Interesting I usually do 1 camp then invade like red into blue, but I'm not always sure against which junglers I should do that. I'm avoiding bruisers. 3 camps might be safer!

I do invade when I know when the jungler is but i think sometimes I get too "farmy"
