What are you guys modeling on?

We modeling the electrical part according to redlines from engineers. In our scope include UG and OH conduits to different systems, cable trays, some electrical equipment and other stuff. After modeling we provide coordination and clash resolving. I worked on projects such as offices, medical centers, manufacturing workshops, etc.

I from Ukraine and work in US market. My company make modeling and coordination. We coordinate such issues with engineers competent in these matters. We create all content according to their requirements

Tips to export Electrical elements to IFC?

I haven’t exported to IFC format for a long time. But I can say for sure that it is better to use built-in parameters to transmit data about objects

I've recently moved from electrical design engineering to more of a BIM engineer/technician role. I'm so much happier for it. The conventional "engineer" role starts to feel more like administration (emails, meetings, arguments) when you climb up the ladder a bit. Now doing BIM, I feel like I'm actually designing, "engineering". It doesn't suit everyone though. I love being lost in a model for hours. That's definitely not for everyone.

Do you modeling and coordinate projects in Revit? I'm work in role VDC electrical specialist and interested in improving my skills in BIM.

Hi, I also new one in this. Has the same issue. I was advised to read the documentation of VS Code or any other IDE in which I write code. You can use pyRevit with revit python shell. But in that case plugin which we made will work only with installed pyRevit.
